The ACE Mentorship Program is such a great opportunity for our high school students to get a sense of what it's like to work in the fields of architecture, engineering and construction. Many thanks to all the mentors who participated in this year's program and congratulations to all the students who participated! Our Managing Director, Tom Kilbane, expressed gratitude for participating in ACE Mentor Program Oregon's 2024 project on Reimagining Lloyd Center, and for having the opportunity to see the creative and thoughtful ideas that the 12 ACE teams put forward for the site. We look forward to seeing these brilliant students working with us in the future!
Whoo! What a way to wrap the 2024 ACE Mentor Program! 👏 The students ACE'd their final presentations this month, and we're blown away with the creativity and intention behind their designs.🏗 Each tasked with a redesigning a portion of the Lloyd Center in downtown Portland, ACE teams got the chance to present their final designs this month to family, friends, mentors, the ACE Board, plus special guest Tom Kilbane, the Managing Director of Urban Renaissance Group. Great job to all our students! Curious about the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon? Learn more at our website ⬇ www.acementoroforegon.com

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an engaging discussion on the Life Sciences sector in Seattle at today's Bisnow Life Sciences Conference!
Today, I had the privilege of engaging in a lively and informative panel on Market Demands and Trends in the Life Science Market. We delved into crucial topics specific to real estate, lab design, funding, and the challenges facing the life sciences sector. The discussion was packed with insights and forward-thinking ideas, and it was an honor to share the stage with such esteemed peers. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation, and to Bisnow for having me!

We’re gearing up for this year’s Walk ALS Portland event. June 2nd will mark URG’s 4th year participating in the annual ALS walk with ALS Northwest. The team, InVINCEable, walks and fundraises for ALS in honor of our late colleague, friend and URG partner, Vince Sheridan, and we walk each year alongside Vince’s family and friends. Funds raised for the ALS Northwest help support and advocate for people with ALS and their families while advancing research for new ALS treatments and cures. Congratulations to Center for Real Estate, Portland State University on another successful annual real estate breakfast! Our own Krista Bailey acted as emcee and host for the exciting and impactful event. The theme of this year's conference was Green Shoots Emerging, invoking a new season of growth for Portland. 🌱
It was an early morning for our real estate community as they came together to support our Center’s 19th Annual Real Estate Conference. The room was filled with 75 sponsors listening to keynote speaker Willy Walker of Walker & Dunlop as well as Jenny Kim (Partners in Diversity), Portland State University’s President Ann Cudd, CRE Advisory Board Chair, Krista Bailey, LEED AP (Urban Renaissance Group), and our very own Cindy Laurila, CPM, CCIM & Julia Freybote. Exciting news is afoot for our Center - Alisa Pyszka will start as our new Executive Director on May 1 (welcome!) & it is our honor to award Mike Morey (The Standard) with the PSU Center for Real Estate Leadership Award. These announcements demand separate posts - so watch for them! The day could not have been possible without the support of so many - our Presenting Sponsors: Killian Pacific & Partners in Diversity, Platinum Sponsors: Schnitzer Properties & The Standard and our many, many generous sponsors (the list is long & our gratitude is deep and can be found on our event website). Thank you to our many speakers - & also to our fabulous design + event + production teams: RAISE AGENT, LLC, The AV Department, Beth Miller (Colliers), Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, Meagan An, & ZP Productions. You all always make us shine so brightly - & for that we are thankful. Lots of national real estate data to digest from Willy’s slides - but until then - smile more, Portland! We’re committed to creating thriving places and we love finding opportunities to give back to our communities. This week, our teams are proudly hosting events in honor of #EarthDay across our portfolio. Here's one amazing success story from this week: In partnership with Freeway Park Association and Town Hall Seattle, we hosted a park cleanup at Freeway Park, downtown Seattle’s largest public space. With over 100 volunteers, including 60 passionate individuals from URG and our downtown tenants, alongside attendees from Town Hall and the public, this was one of Freeway Park Association’s largest volunteer events! Together, we cleared over 20lbs of garbage and distributed over 100lbs of mulch, leaving our beloved Freeway Park pristine and beautiful for the community to enjoy! Thank you to our partners at Freeway Park Association and Town Hall Seattle and thank you to our volunteers! 🌍 #HappyEarthWeek #Seattle #URGiving #GivingBack #CommercialRealEstate #CRE #Seattle

We had a great time hosting the Adams 12 students at 380 Interlocken last week! Our engineering team toured the students through rooftop mechanical and back-of-house equipment at the property. Then, we hosted a career panel with a focus on Property Management and Engineering. Thank you to Denver Metro BOMA for partnering with us on this fun event!
Big shout out and thank you to Meghan Connifey, RPA®, and the Urban Renaissance Group along with Alec K. for hosting Highschool students from Adams 12 today for a building tour and career panel. Hilary Wimmer your students are amazing, it was a pleasure to meet them all, and we hope to see some of them in the future. Denver Metro BOMA thanks for the pizza and sodas! What a great Friday!!

Let’s give it up for the 10 participants on our URG HighRisers who took part in the Big Climb at Columbia Center a couple of weeks ago! Each climber conquered 69 floors, 1,311 steps and 788 feet of vertical elevation to raise funds for blood cancer research. Since taking over management of Columbia Center in 2015, URG has raised more than $45,000 for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through its Big Climb events, including more than $4,100 this year. There’s still time to donate to this year’s Big Climb Seattle fundraiser.
