#WomensEqualityDay commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees women the right to vote. To celebrate the achievements of women, we recognize not only the significance of women's contributions but also the value of diversity and inclusivity to our fighting force. We honor the incredible bravery of Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester, one of the few women awarded for valor in close-quarters combat. In 2005, while serving in Iraq, she led her team through an ambush, fought on foot, and saved countless lives. Her bravery earned her the Silver Star Medal, making her the first woman since WWII to receive it for combat valor. #BeAllYouCanBe

The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is exploring a potential partnership with an academic institution to enhance intelligence collection and exploitation technologies. This collaboration would focus on #biometric, #forensic, and digital identity exploitation for counterterrorism and National Security operations. If viable, a five-year contract worth over $100 million annually could be established, involving applied research, technology development, and academic collaboration. USSOCOM aims to harness academic expertise to advance its capabilities in handling vast amounts of collected data critical for identifying and prosecuting terror suspects.
