GOOD LUCK to all the college sailors participating in this weekend’s Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR)! The IOR is held by Larchmont Yacht Club and co-hosted by Storm Trysail Club October 12-13 on Long Island Sound. The event will see 41 schools from 19 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces come together for a unique offshore sailing experience, designed to give collegiate sailors a new challenge beyond their typical dinghy racing. This year’s regatta features 43 boats and 313 sailors, supported by 90 volunteers who will serve in roles from Race Committee to Safety Officers on the donated boats. The event, organized by the Storm Trysail Foundation and powered by donations from club members, sponsors, and partners, remains free for all student competitors. We love to see college sailors getting the chance to add keelboat sailing to their repertoire! Design: Kate Somers / Photo: Steve Cloutier
