Last month, USA Pulses and the US Dry Bean Council hosted Advanced Training on U.S. Pulses and Pulse Ingredients in Extruded Snacks at the beautiful Anantara Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The event brought together leading #snack producers from Southeast Asia, including companies from Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.🌍 The training covered the nutritional benefits and functional properties of U.S. pulses, with expert sessions led by Dr. Girish Ganjyal (Washington State University) and Michael Gibson (Gibson Extrusion Solutions, LLC), offering valuable insights into #extrusion processes and product development. Dr. Ewa Pietrysiak from USA Pulses led discussions on the health benefits of pulses and facilitated hands-on product reviews, where participants could see first-hand how U.S. pulse ingredients can elevate snack products. A huge thank you to AgriSource Co. Ltd. team for organizing this impactful event and to Ms. Kelly Stange, Agricultural Counselor at the USDA, for her support. The positive feedback from participants has left us excited about the future of pulse-based snacks in the region!
