By building experiences around the first financial pain points experienced at household formation, we utilize unique data sets and best-in-class engagement to partner with financial institutions match them with their ideal customers.

Full circle moment seeing Tandem - Couples App used as a case study at Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business and Michigan State University Financial Markets Institute 🥹 Congrats to all the student teams who did such an impressive job and thanks so much for letting us be a part of this!
On Thursday evening, the Financial Markets Institute hosted the First Annual Broad College Venture Capital Competition in partnership with Andrei Simonov (Chairman, Dept. of Finance) and the Broad College Department of Finance, Jeff Wesley and Red Cedar Ventures, the MSU Research Foundation, and the Alternative Investment Group (AIG). We would like to especially recognize CEO and founder of Tandem Inc., Michelle Winterfield, as well as judges Prem Bodagala (Director, Red Cedar Ventures), Tom Stewart, MBA (Director, Venture Programming), Yun Hayong (Professor and Co-Director, Broad College VC), and Hao Jiang (Professor and Co-Director, Broad College VC). Thank you to FMI scholar and event organizer, Ryan Smalley (President, AIG), who did a fantastic job putting this competition together. And, last but not least, CONGRATULATIONS to the winning team: Alex Bultynck, Cameron Korman, Larson DeBouver, Dominic Piccirilli, and Sahib Sekhon! These students will split the prize fund of $500, and will move on to compete at the National Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) at Dartmouth College in February.
