🎉🌍 Huge congratulations to our very own Director of Executive Operations, Jes Garcia, on being selected as a United Way One Young World Delegate by United Way Worldwide! 🌟 Jes will represent us at the 2025 One Young World Summit this November in Munich, Germany, joining 2,000 exceptional young leaders from across the globe. The summit will tackle five key challenges: the circular economy, anti-hate, responsible tech, education, and peace and security. Jes was chosen as one of just 20 outstanding United Way leaders from eight countries—an incredible achievement! We are so proud to have Jes represent United Way of Central Florida on this global stage. Please join us in celebrating this well-deserved honor! #OneYoungWorld #UnitedWay #Leadership #GlobalImpact #UWCF Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eqNd3jKu

Thank you Polk State College, for a fantastic article about our partnership with the college and the work that their interns do at The Carol Jenkins Barnett United Way Children's Resource Center! “The most rewarding thing has been spending time with the children – watching them interact, grow, laugh,” Betancourt reflected. “I’ve watched shy kids grow through learning and make new friends. It’s the perfect center.” #Internship #PolkState #EarlyEducation

When Hurricane victims were forced to leave the Imperial Swan Hotel in Lakeland due to a fire, United Way of Central Florida was one of the organizations there helping families find safe housing. Lakeland Police Department and the Lakeland Fire Department led the charge assisting residents throughout this unplanned event with help from FEMA, GiveWell Community Foundation, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Talbot House Ministries. Thank you WFLA-TV News Channel 8 / WTTA-TV The CW Tampa Bay for covering this story. https://lnkd.in/e_zdSPkJ
