Mission accomplished! https://lnkd.in/ee9uy4Kv My favorite thing about #WEFTEC are all the happy accidental encounters with people, some you know and others you soon will. Some highlights this year: 🌿 Working with LA Green Corps to revamp a garden space for the St. Mary’s Garden Club. 🎭 Connecting with WRF colleagues throughout the week ☕️ Accidental coffee dates with colleagues 🙏🏼 Breakfast catch-ups The technical sessions I attended were phenomenal, thinking about how to tackle water challenges at a local level, but there’s something to be learned in the space between. For those I just met, the accidental bump-ins and the intentional ones- it was such a treat.

We are so proud of our 2024 Paul L. Busch Award winner! 🏆 Can't wait to see what you do next.
Membrane Scientist and General Electric Professor of Advanced Manufacturing in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at the University of Connecticut
What an incredible experience at #WEFTEC this year in New Orleans. I was honored to be the recipient of the Paul L. Busch Award from the The Water Research Foundation (WRF). This award recognizes innovative ideas that aim to solve some of our world's most pressing water-related challenges. Many thanks go to my support letter writers Menachem Elimelech and Peter Fiske for supporting my career in more ways than I can count. And of course many thanks go to my current and past students who have helped me develop the technology that drew the attention of the selection committee.

Congratulations to Dr. Jeffrey McCutcheon, this year’s Paul L. Busch Award winner! 🏆 Dr. McCutcheon is widely known for pioneering within the field of forward osmosis technology. With this award’s $100,000 research prize, he plans to diversify treatment solutions to match the diversity of water qualities by producing membranes from never-before-used materials with his team at UConn Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. 🔬

🏆 Congratulations to our 2024 IWS Challenge winner, Ayomide Zul Kazeem, who is working on an AI platform for detecting leaks in water supply networks 👏🏼
Honored again this year to be a judge in the 2024 Intelligent Water Systems Challenge at #weftec24. Congratulations to the 1st place project “AI-Platform for Accurate Water Supply Network Leakage Detection and Localization” winning $10K! This project was conducted by Cleveland Water and Case Western Reserve University and well presented by Ayomide Zul Kazeem a Ph.D. Student in Case Western Reserve’s Dept. Of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The voting was very close for all of the top three finalists. AI is truly helping researchers with amazing results! Tnemec Company, Inc.
