Championing and Empowering Communities Through Innovation | Director of Entrepreneurship at The Welcoming Center
Entrepreneurship at The Welcoming Center focuses on business education, 1-1 technical assistance, and incubation geared towards setting immigrant entrepreneurs up to start or expand their own micro-businesses and integrate into the local economy. Last week, Stephen Briggs (Wells Fargo) joined us to celebrate the graduation of four cohorts of immigrant entrepreneurs, who completed our twelve-week business education and training course in English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Dari. We are thankful for the support from Nationalities Service Center (Ukrainian and Dari cohorts' partner), Philadelphia Department of Commerce , Greenline Access Capital (finance education and resource partner), Free Library of Philadelphia (resource partner), Silvia Lucci (guest speaker), and our instructors, interpreters, and volunteers who made this ambitious goal a success.

🎉 Congratulations to all our participants who graduated from our Business Planning Course last week! Your hard work and dedication have paid off. As one speaker powerfully stated, "This room is filled with the future of Philadelphia. We need you. The city needs you." A special thank you to Wells Fargo for their recent grant and their many years of unwavering support for immigrant small business owners in Philadelphia. We also extend our gratitude to Stephen Briggs from Wells Fargo for speaking at the event and inspiring our graduates. Here's to the future! 🌟
