🌟 Our participants in the Immigrant Leadership Institute have accomplished an amazing action project! They presented a 5-point proposal to the Philadelphia Office of Adult Education (OAE), aiming to enhance services for immigrants. Their plan includes creating an advisory council of adult learners to provide feedback, ensuring the council's autonomy, compensating members, and seeking funding support. We're so proud of their dedication and vision! 👏

The Welcoming Center reposted this
Last year, the Kenney administration made a key investment in the economic trajectory of our City - funding professional English language classes for speakers of other languages. Thanks to our ESOL team Jessica A. Levy, Linlin Wang, Becca Levy-Diedrich MSEd, and Ayesha Rahim, The Welcoming Center is now offering an expanded slate of English language classes, all focused on economic advancement, in northeast Philly and Center City. Meir Rinde's article this week for WHYY/Billy Penn, captures the impact we are having through these new classes and how they are impacting the lives of our participants.
