Women in International Relations Network is an initiative that seeks to amplify the voices of women and marginalised communities from India and the Global South. It advocates for the recognition, inclusion, and representation of women in international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy, peace-building, security and conflict resolution, and international development through an intersectional lens.
INTERVIEW | Voices from the Think Tank Community
In case you missed it, last month our friends at the Think Tank Lab published an interview with our Managing Director, Isotta Ricci Bitti.
"Think tanks need to adopt more strategic approaches to funding to ensure their longevity and independence. (...) Establishing multi-faceted relationships with partners who share similar values and missions is crucial for innovation within the sector, especially in response to significant societal changes."

German Chancellor Fellow, 2024 | Women in International Relations Network | Gender & Foreign Policy | World Economic Forum Global Shaper
Some news I’ve been sitting on over the past month: I’m thrilled to share that I have been awarded the German Chancellor Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation!
From October 2024 to December 2025, I'll be working with the wonderful Sarah Bressan and the incredible team at Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) to explore think tank collaboration between India and Germany, focusing on advancing a feminist foreign policy. This is work I’m passionate about, and I look forward to contributing to this field.
I'm incredibly grateful for Sarah and GPPi's support in this journey. Also, a huge thank you to my amazing colleagues at Kubernein Initiative for their encouragement.
Friends in Berlin, I’ll be moving to your beautiful city in October and look forward to making it my home. All tips and recommendations are welcome!
A few weeks left to the submission deadline of this call for papers for a special issue on the Global South in the Earth System Governance journal (Q1). June 30 is the deadline.
Hurry up! Send us your ideas, abstracts, manuscripts....or simply get in touch to connect and interact!
This special issue is an attempt to fill a gap that currently exists in the ESG scholarship in terms of representation, recognition, and conception of knowledge(s) and practice(s) of/in/from the Global South as well as expand the South-South Initiative of Earth System Governance Project.

APLN is excited to launch our Asia-Pacific Women in International Security Database!
This database features women from across the region working on foreign policy, defence, and peace and security-related issues.
Try it out ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e7S6Wqzn
We've designed the database so that you can filter by regional expertise, thematic expertise, language skills, and nationality. For example, if you are searching for an Indian expert on emerging tech who speaks Hindi, you can combine filters to do so.
APLN created this tool to enhance gender diversity and amplify women’s voices in the field of international security, a space where women remain underrepresented – particularly in the Asia-Pacific, the region home to the greatest number of nuclear-armed states and sixty percent of the global population.
We invite journalists to use this resource when seeking women in the field of international security to consult with for upcoming articles, interviews, or other related work.
We will continue adding to this database over time in efforts to create a comprehensive and inclusive list of international security experts in the region.

So that's me.
Coming home in the last few years to disarmament work, which is where my journey began. Peace and disarmament work are the work of my heart.
I don't think I am an expert or a leader but I cannot say no to my friends at @UNRCPD!

Germany has a long—and flawed—history of debating whether values or interests should take precedence in foreign policy decision-making, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz's government is no exception. Leonie Stamm explains how feminist foreign policy could create a way to solve this conflict.
