#Frankfurt ❤️ #Philly! The celebration of our 10th year of Sister City partnerships continues with a prestigious visit to #Philadelphia City Hall hosted by City Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Vincent Thompson. The #German delegation led by Frankfurt's Mayor and City Council President observed budget negotiations and got a welcome shout out from the floor! #democracyinaction. #SportsDiplomacy was in full swing with a visit to the Philadelphia Union to announce a match between our two cities on August 2. See you there! And of course we caught a Philadelphia 76ers game complete with a guest appearance by Philly's own Will Smith! Apparently Mayor Josef of Frankfurt is a die hard fan of Iverson... https://lnkd.in/eXXsyFfN

"Pennsylvania exports more goods to Canada than anywhere else. In 2024, 26% of the state exports were sent to Canada. That's almost three times the amount sent to Mexico — the second largest importer of Pennsylvania commodities." Great breakdown of this key international relationship from The Philadelphia Inquirer, with excellent insights from Lauren Swartz at the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia https://lnkd.in/ecMFazQx

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the celebration of 10 years of the Philadelphia-Frankfurt Sister Cities partnership with the Mayor of #Frankfurt, Germany and 38 delegates, hosted by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia🌍. The event was a powerful reminder of the value of international collaboration - in fostering economic and professional ties. As a partner in a firm specializing in accounting, tax, and audit services for German companies operating in the U.S., I deeply value these partnerships because I’ve firsthand seen the opportunities they create for innovation and growth across borders. At Rödl & Partner USA, we’re proud to support businesses navigating the opportunities and challenges of transatlantic collaboration. Events like these remind us how important it is to build strong partnerships and provide the guidance companies need to thrive. Here’s to many more years of friendship and collaboration between these two vibrant cities🚀 Thank you The German Society of Pennsylvania for hosting ! #WeAreRoedl #GermanAmericanRelations #Sisterhood #Exchange

This is Mike Josef, the Mayor of Germany’s financial capital: Frankfurt am Main. I am very honored to have met him during a reception held at the The German Society of Pennsylvania. Thank you to the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia for organizing. The evening celebrated 10-years of sister-city hood between Philadelphia and my home city, Frankfurt. As sister cities, our connection transcends borders, fostering mutual respect, cultural exchange, and innovative collaboration in education, sport, and commerce. Here's to many more years of growth and collaboration between two great cities I've had the pleasure of calling home 🇩🇪🤝🇺🇸

This was, hands-down, the best way to start the week! A reception at the German Society welcoming the delegation from our Sister City, Frankfurt, and then an inspiring discussion about equity, inclusivity, and the vital importance of diversity with an incredible group of people. thank you Hayley J. Boyle, and my colleague David Weisberg. Zum Wohl!
So grateful to Lauren Swartz and Hayley J. Boyle from the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia for the opportunity to speak to a visiting delegation from Frankfurt, Germany, along with my wonderful colleague Chelsea Switzer, for an Interculturality & Diversity Exchange Roundtable on Tuesday morning. And always a pleasure to be joined by Elizabeth Jones from the Welcoming Center.
