About us
REMEMBER the fallen; HONOR those who serve; TEACH future generations the value of freedom. Overview: What began in 1992 with a trailer load of 5,000 wreaths, placed by volunteers and laid at the graves of servicemembers laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery has now become a national organization with over 4.200 participating locations, with more than 3 million volunteers – a third of who are children – who support the yearlong mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

"What better way to die, than to give your life for your country." The Byers family, Mary, Lloyd and their son Jared, share the deep, personal story of their son and brother, Captain Joshua Byers, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2003. Jared's final words, "Keep Moving Forward," spoken to his unit after his vehicle was struck by a bomb, are the 2025 Wreaths Across America theme. Thank you to the Byers' for their selflessness and for sharing Josh's story. We will never let his sacrifice be forgotten. The Byers' book, Keep Moving Forward, is available in the WAA Store. Each purchase also sponsors a veteran's wreath that will be placed this December. https://lnkd.in/gB99NsC8

While at this week's Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, our Transportation team was proud to recognize 17 members of our Honor Fleet for 10 years of support and Moving the Mission. Transportation partners are the backbone of the Wreaths Across America effort. Our "Honor Fleet" is responsible for transporting millions of veterans' wreaths to a growing number of participating locations worldwide. Thank you to these partners for making the mission possible! https://lnkd.in/gR_VivQU

Wreaths Across America reposted this
National Medal of Honor Day is a holiday of profound reverence, where we pause to honor the extraordinary individuals who, in moments of unimaginable crisis, embodied the very essence of courage and selflessness. These are not just stories of valor; they are the bedrock of our nation's ideals, reminding us of the sacrifices that safeguard our freedoms. Today, across the country, Medal of Honor Recipients and citizens alike are attending ceremonies, tributes, and educational programs to ensure these acts of heroism are never forgotten. We invite and encourage you to pause and reflect on the true meaning of service and sacrifice and commit to upholding the values Medal of Honor Recipients so bravely defended. Let their stories inspire us to live with greater purpose and dedication to our communities. Stay tuned throughout the day and the rest of this week as we share more from the holiday’s commemorative events.

This week's Trucking Tributes features Esther Parsons and UPS. "As a daughter of a World War II veteran, it hit a nerve for me, and I started looking into the organization. Being born and raised outside of Philadelphia, and I remember the bicentennial, and my dad was a flag-waving patriot, participating just seemed like a perfect fit for me.” Hear from Esther tomorrow on Wreaths Across America Radio's Trucking Tuesday at 11am and 4pm ET, and learn more now on the blog: https://lnkd.in/gCVxGVkr
