#XGamesChiba 2024 was definitely one for the books 📚 We were stoked to return to Chiba, Japan for the third consecutive year for X Games Chiba 2024 at the Makuhari Messe stadium on September 20-22. There were 11 disciplines across skateboard, BMX and Moto X all streamed live internationally on the XG YouTube and Twitch. There were some massive moments that happened in Japan this year. We saw Gui Khury land the world’s first-in-competition kickflip body varial 900 to win his third consecutive Skateboard Vert Best Trick gold. Arisa Trew won gold in Women’s Skateboard Park, making her the first athlete in #XGames history to ever win 5 gold medals all before the age of 15. And Garrett Reynolds broke the record for most X Games gold medals in history with his win in BMX Street, giving him a total of 16 X Games gold medals. Not only were there big things happening on the courses, but also some major accomplishments happening behind the scenes. 30M impressions across social platforms (+33% YOY) 29M video views across social platforms (+130% YOY) 135K livestream views (+4% YOY) Thank you to all the athletes, staff, Chiba and especially our fans for another successful event! Can’t wait to see what’s next 👀 Did you miss any of the action? Head to our YouTube channel to catch up on everything that went down in Japan 👉 https://lnkd.in/gKqz44hw

“I think I’m even more happy than my Olympic gold to be honest…” - Arisa Trew Arisa Trew made history at #XGamesChiba 2024 by becoming the first athlete to win five #XGames gold medals before the age of 15. Trew came through for her third consecutive Women’s Skateboard Park win, following her X Games California and #XGamesVentura gold medals. But not without some suspense as Arisa claimed victory with her final run - the very last run of the entire contest - for a walkoff gold. Trew was joined on the podium by Sky Brown and Heili Sirvio, who won silver and bronze respectively. Chiba 2024 was Sky’s first X Games appearance in Japan and Heili’s first ever X Games event. If you haven’t heard by now, the athletes that competed in Skateboard Vert Best Trick at #XGamesChiba 2024 delivered. In one of the most exciting 90 seconds in recent #XGames memory, Moto Shibata and Gui Khury landed first-in-competition tricks in back-to-back attempts to finish Run 4 of Skateboard Vert Best Trick. Moto Shibata stuck his front foot impossible Lien 540 to take first place. Seconds later, Khury landed a kickflip body varial 900, which overtook Shibata for gold. Gui won his first ever X Games gold medal in the discipline. It was also his 11th total X Games medal, the most by a teenager in X Games history, and he’s still just 15! We recently had the opportunity to go to the Snap Inc. Partner Summit in Santa Monica, California! During the summit, we were able to learn more about Snapchat’s features and upcoming launches, see how other brands and teams within sports are taking full advantage of Snapchat’s features, and obtain a deeper understanding of how the audience uses and interacts within the platform! We were honored to get the invite and are excited to continue our efforts on Snapchat! And if you don’t already, be sure to follow us there too.

Tom Schaar was just 14 years old when he claimed his first #XGames gold, surprising the Skateboard Big Air field at XG Austin 2014. The bigger surprise? That it took another 10 years to score his second X Games title. “For a couple years there, it did feel like vert was dying. Now it’s worldwide again, with kids from all over the world winning contests, new tricks every day… it’s thriving all of a sudden! It’s cool to see.” - Tom Schaar To read the full feature article on Schaar, click the link: https://lnkd.in/gCSVQ7Qw And tune in September 20-22 to watch #XGamesChiba live!
