It's incredible how much I learned about new scam methods while researching at Xplorisk, a crypto risk mitigation & fraud prevention platform. Among the many intriguing topics, one that caught my attention is the ease with which people can fall into the trap. 🚨Have you heard about Dust attacks? Dust refers to tiny amounts of cryptocurrency left in a wallet, often too small to trade, yet exploited by malicious actors to track and de-anonymize wallet owners. Dust collectors often target leftover dust from major exploits, as the Lazarus Group did after the DMM Bitcoin hack in May 2024, where $305 million was stolen. They use simple phishing tactics, such as "claim" emails, to send and collect this dust, especially from browser-based wallets. These tiny amounts often go unnoticed, allowing attackers to manipulate and further exploit wallet owners. ⚠️ Be cautious of small, unexplained deposits in your wallet, educate yourself, and consult professionals to protect your assets. #CryptoScams #CyberSecurity #DustAttacks #CryptoFraud #BlockchainSecurity
