Representation in storytelling matters because visibility matters. Minecraft isn’t just another video game. It’s a global platform where 141 million fans build their unique stories and share them with the world. And to prove it, Minecraft created #MinecraftYourStory, a social program aimed to collect hundreds of perspectives on a single, simple prompt. You can read more about it on Roastbrief here: https://lnkd.in/g-YeQM-f After hundreds of personal tales with unique styles poured through, Minecraft compiled them all into a moving, mixed-media collage to reposition the spotlight back at their game’s budding storytellers. By tapping into existing YouTube tagging behavior, every creator now has their first official story credit—linked to their original submission—so their voice is wholly represented as an integral part of Minecraft’s voice. Huge thanks to Mojang Studios, the Minecraft community, Cut + Run, and Lime Studios for sharing their talents with the world and crafting the Minecraft story with us.

I love Cuphead. My kids? They love it too but you know what my youngest loved even more? The Cuphead Show on Netflix. This was a fantastic transmedia extension and here comes what could be the biggest transmedia event yet - a Minecraft animated series on Netflix. Here's why I think this is such an important moment: 🎑 Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox - giving players total control and freedom to create their own worlds - and their own stories. There's been spin-offs like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends but moving into the linear story-telling craft will be a telling moment for how Minecraft can grow in the future. 🎮 Netflix is trying a variety of tactics to get more entrenched as THE streamer for video gamers. They're making games but content like this keeps subscribers hooked. ⏳ This sort of content could send kids watching Minecraft on Netflix to ask their parents to play Minecraft or could send kids back to Minecraft when they've maybe moved on to other games. If this becomes a meaningful piece of the Minecraft flywheel, it's going to be a huge feather in the transmedia cap. Is Minecraft on Netflix going to be a major moment or is this just one of many gaming IPs that will get its Hollywood treatment? #gamedevelopment #gamepublishing #videogameindustry

Unveiling Minecraft's Domination in Japan Hey everyone! Today, let's delve into a topic for all the Minecraft enthusiasts out there 🎮 Did you know that Minecraft reigns as one of the most beloved games in Japan? It's consistently held the top spot as the number one paid app on both iOS and Google Play for several years now. Many of our talented creators leverage Minecraft for their content, with some even building their entire brand around it, like Colorful Peach. (Check out their channel here: https://lnkd.in/grxxpR9G) While several Western hits have managed to carve out a niche in Japan, Minecraft's unparalleled success here is truly remarkable. Let's explore some key factors contributing to its triumph. First up, accessibility. Minecraft boasts a simple yet robust gameplay structure, allowing individuals of all ages to embark on unique adventures through their own efforts. The sense of accomplishment derived from achieving your goals or uncovering rare minerals is unparalleled 🙌 The game's sandbox nature encourages creativity and experimentation, perfectly aligning with Japan's penchant for crafting and attention to detail. Interestingly, sandbox games developed by Japanese creators are relatively uncommon, leaving a significant void in the market that Minecraft effortlessly fills. Lastly, let's talk price point. In Japan, gaming doesn't come cheap. Coming from the UK, I never realized how spoilt for gaming I was until I arrived here, where even second-hand titles can fetch a higher price than brand-new ones! 😮 Minecraft, however, has a much lower price point, making it easier for younger people to purchase it. Have any of you dabbled in Minecraft? Let me know! 😁 #influencermarketing #japanesegamingculture #japanesemarket #minecraft

"I feel like I'm being pretty clear here; It's a thing that lets you do stuff." Developing (and having developed) a social sandbox MMO, I know it can sometimes be hard for people to get the idea of the game. "It's a thing that lets you do stuff (but you don't have to if you don't want to)" is pretty spot on description. Ryan George is an excellent social media comedian and his time travelling reporter explaining Minecraft to a person from the 90's is something I can relate to 😄 #gamedevelopment #gamedesign #gamesindustry #seedfunding #seedround #vcfunding #vc Social First

One of the best email offers I've gotten recently was about MINECRAFT. Here's how ShockByte sent out one of the most unique offers I've seen lately: ✨ The first sentence immediately and intimately understands the audience. (Minecraft players go through a cycle of playing and not playing for a long time.) ✨ The email came out for a good reason. The new Minecraft update has a lot of fun new stuff to play with. ✨ Their discount exists for a specific reason. ✨ 33% off forever is actually a freaking awesome discount. Copywriters are the people who help you: ⛏️ Create an offer that works. ⛏️ How to position your offer as special. ⛏️ Know how to write for the right place at the right time. ⛏️ Give your offers the right reasons & positioning.

I've been experimenting with Procedural Content Generation (PCG), a method that uses algorithms to create game content automatically. This allows developers to generate dynamic environments, characters, and other elements, saving time and enhancing game replayability and uniqueness. I tried PCG for foliage, including grasses, trees, and some static meshes like stones and houses. I only implemented this in a small area because my PC was crying 😂 PCG is great for creating large environments. It's used in games like Minecraft, where each new map is different, and PUBG, where PCG spawns items and weapons, and in almost every game. It also makes the gameflow interesting, keeping the levels unique every time. Check out the attached video to see what I've been working on! 😊 . . . #ProceduralContentGeneration #PCG #UnrealEngine #GameDev #GameDevelopment #GameDesign #IndieGameDev #DynamicEnvironments #Replayability #GameMechanics
