Put your money where your mouth is... at Experience Management Institute we don't just talk the talk, we invest in the walk. 🤑 Being a small business, we always look for opportunities to buy from #localbusiness and/or #smallbiz and/or #minorityowned #businesses where we can. This requires intentional research and vetting on our end of each organization we buy from. We do this on purpose... As we finalized our year end plans, we wanted to give each member of our team something to say #thankyou for their hard work in 2023 and that we were excited they have chosen to be part of 2024! We are always mindful of spending, so we are always looking for small tokens of appreciation that will also make a big impact. 🎉🎉 Then Katherine Heynoski found the PERFECT organization... Packed with Purpose. Packed with Purpose’s hand-selected and sustainable gifts source products from 140+ #purposedriven organizations. They are a certified #BCorp through B Lab which means as a business they meet the highest verified global standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. They are certified by WBENC as woman owned. They are committed to reducing their carbon footprint... but the best part is that every snack gives back across at least one (if not more) of six impact areas: 1) Sustainability & Environment; 2) Women's Empowerment; 3) Workforce Development; 4) Youth Advancement; 5) Diverse & Woman-Owned; and 6) Health & Wellbeing. As we work to finalize our #BCorp application and join the movement of organizations who balance profit with purpose... these are the type of organizations that we know we want to be when EXMI "grows up". As I looked through each gift basket option, I was so excited to see that another organization has similar values... (Don't tell anyone, but I may have actually cried... ok, I did cry.) Finding Packed with Purpose was almost too good to be true and our experience has been amazing. 👉 I would recommend you check out their website and consider their organization the next time you send someone a gift... as your purchase goes a long, long way! https://lnkd.in/gyD_65ZW #SocialImpact #CorporateSocialResponsibility #MakingADifference #DoGoodBusiness #TripleBottomLine #PurposeDriven #ForGood
🧺 We wanted to celebrate our staff with a gift from a #WomanOwnedBusiness that's #BCorpCertified, so we sent them each a package from Packed with Purpose. Our co-founders Emily Douglas-McNab and Katherine Heynoski hand-picked gift baskets supporting causes our organization values, like #JobTraining for women with barriers to employment, like #WomenOwnedBusiness, #BlackOwnedBusiness, and #VeteranEmployment. 2024 should be full of good surprises for everyone! #StaffSurprises #Intentionality #PeopleExperience

"I sometimes worry if we, Lazy Women, are lacking in creating that #IRL opportunity for women to listen, connect, and share - although in-person meet-ups are excitingly becoming a greater focus. But then, it’s already happening, albeit in a different way. Someone sees an Instagram post. That leads them to an article. The article resonates, and they share it in a group chat with friends. The friends chat about the article over coffee. One later reflects on the conversation during a phone call with their mother, another with their boyfriend over dinner. Perhaps the mother thinks nothing more of it; perhaps the boyfriend mentions something to his sister, who in turn mentions something to her girlfriend. And the conversation continues, sometimes diluting, tangents ever-expanding. All this from the spark of a scroll on a platform we are often told is bad for our mental health, self-esteem, and attention span – but that is precisely why Lazy Women is there: to offer some positive energy to an audience looking for something that will make them feel good. A thought-provoking read from Lazy Women may not provide an instant dopamine hit (though the fabulous illustrations in every post will inevitably spark joy). Yet – we’re here for the long game, as women’s groups always have been, and every bit of engagement counts, for scrollers, readers and community members alike." Marking this Women's Day with Lauren Powell's beautiful words, who couldn't have put the power of online community-building any better. 💜
International Women's Day Special 💃 💌 🌹 📢 Has the online world made women’s groups less effective than they once were? Does a scroll on Instagram dilute the efforts of what it means to make a change, or can it be a source of action? ⚡ 📱 Read Lauren Powell's reflections on women’s groups through the ages in her latest piece, marking International Women’s Day, through the power of hope. 🌟 Illustrated by Janka Sára Balázs 💕 #InternationalWomensDay #internationalwomensday2024 #LazyWomen #womenempowerment

Stop feeling isolated and start building a community with other women. When we isolate ourselves, we miss out on the support and wisdom that a community can offer. Inclusivity can manifest in various forms, and sometimes it takes a simple conversation to spark a transformative change. Recently, during a discussion in our support group, one member shared an enlightening experience. His daughter questioned why only her mother was always seen cooking, prompting reflection on entrenched stereotypes. What followed was truly remarkable. The father, recognizing the importance of challenging norms, took it upon himself to share the cooking responsibilities. This shift towards a more equitable household not only empowered the daughter to question stereotypes but also fostered a sense of belonging for everyone involved. This incident served dual purposes: it served as a role model for the children, illustrating the importance of equality in relationships, and it alleviated the burden on the wife, allowing her to thrive in her own space. As an advocate for various causes, including women's empowerment, witnessing such a small yet significant change within a household fills me with hope. It's these moments of individual action that pave the way for a more inclusive society. #inclusivity #genderequality #empowerment #familyvalues

his was shared in our Circle community a few days ago, and since we are transitioning into 2024 this is speaking volumes. Envision yourself next year: Swapping stories with women who have shared similar #struggles in the business world, having dinner with someone who has a past similar to yours, or meeting up with your crisis crew because you don't have to go through things alone anymore. You're part of a community of women who are there to help, encourage, uplift, and support you. Let us be that #community. #businesssuccess #BusinessGrowth #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment

Please stop asking women and those in underrepresented groups to do things for free. If you are not friends with people (and you don’t already do the back-and-forth friend thing supporting each other), then you need to compensate them in some way. If you make money at all- through vendors, tickets, etc- and it’s not a friendly swap in some way, then pay people. Everything else is just called greed which goes back to control and power. Stop widening the gaps and do your part to shorten the gaps. Stop trying to sell “exposure” because that only really works for those in the highest levels of privilege. #privilege #payforexpertise #women #underrepresentedgroups #speaking #conferences #speakers

This past year, Women Moving Millions surpassed one billion dollars mobilized for #genderequality from our community. While we are exceedingly proud of this milestone, we are even more proud of the individual stories we hear from members and their grantees about how we are showing up in the world, modeling a new and more feminist approach to bold philanthropy, and laying the seeds for transformative change. Looking ahead to 2024, our work to unlock greater resources for a gender equal world will take on even greater urgency. As we move away from the long shadow cast by the pandemic, we find our world today less democratic and less secure. The unprecedented assault on women’s rights worldwide calls upon us to continue our relentless advocacy, pushing ourselves even further to consider new ways of thinking about and tackling the challenges facing our increasingly fragile world. Our work will remain rooted in the fundamental belief in the exponential power and potential of bringing together a community of women who share a common vision and commitment to investing in their philanthropic leadership to drive change. We know that by leveraging our collective power and influence, we can achieve more than just incremental impact — we can drive the change the world needs today. Thank you to all our members, partners, funders, Board, and amazing team for all you’ve done, in these pages and beyond, to strengthen our community and build a gender equal world! https://lnkd.in/e8ehVGGK
