🛰 ILA Berlin 2024: A Review The show is over, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have been there. From June 5-9, some 600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries presented themselves to trade visitors and the public. Approximately 95,000 visitors attended the show and were inspired by the various stages, expert discussions and impressive flight displays.  The largest passenger aircraft was a particular highlight for visitors. The ILA Talent Hub was the central point of contact for professionals and employers, offering lectures, workshops and networking opportunities. ILA Berlin 2024 also demonstrated the industry's commitment to developing solutions for climate-neutral aviation on a global scale. 💡Our personal highlights included the traditional Brand Alliance Project Developers' Meeting and the Berlin-Brandenburg State Reception. We were also pleased to welcome several delegations and interested parties to our booth.  🚀 This is where the future is being built. Our region is not only the cradle of German aviation, but also a place of innovation and visions for the future. The capital region of Berlin Brandenburg is one of the top locations for aerospace technology in Germany, with key competencies in engine development and construction, light aircraft and aircraft maintenance, including global players such as Rolls-Royce Deutschland, MTU Maintenance and Lufthansa. At the forefront of the unmanned aerial vehicles, small satellites and the new space sector, Berlin-Brandenburg is setting important future industry trends. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is set to kick off the first Advanced Air Mobility Symposium (AAM 2024), to be held on 9-12 September 2024 in Montréal, Canada. Marking the beginning of the event, the opening session titled "Welcome to the World of eVTOL Operations" is poised to offer an insightful commencement to the symposium's agenda. Ask a random sampling of symposium participants, "Name some eVTOL operations?" and you are likely to get many varied responses. G700 to make Singapore Airshow debut Gulfstream Aerospace ultra-long-range G700 will make its Singapore Airshow debut later this month. The large #businessjet will be on static #display alongside a G600 at the biennial airshow, which runs from February 20 to 25 at Changi Airport Group Exhibition Centre. According to the company, the G700 is the fastest in the Gulfstream #fleet with its long range importance & #record breaking speeds. Both the G600 & G700, as well as other newer Gulfstream #aircraft, share similar designs to increase operational efficiency for customers. Both of these #planes feature advanced #avionics like the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck & the industry’s first active control sidesticks, dual head-up displays, a Data Concentration Network & extensive touch-screen technology. Both also feature the Enhanced Vision System & provide imagery to help #pilots navigate in low-visibility situations by reducing delays & rerouting. This #news comes after parent company General Dynamics said the FAA’s #delay in the certifying of the aircraft cost the company $1 billion in revenues & $250 million in earnings. The company had initially planned for 15 deliveries of the G700 in December 2023. It now expects Federal Aviation Administration certification & service entry by the end of next month, with 50 G700 deliveries planned by year-end. 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗔𝗠? In Hindi, it means a Mango 🥭, but in the world of aviation, it's termed Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Coincidentally, they both are my favorites. When someone asks me: "Where do you work❓" I reply: "I work in the field of Urban Air Mobility (UAM)." Then they ask: "What's that❓ I've never heard of it." And from there, our conversation begins as I explain how the future of aviation will look. I've had this conversation quite a few times, and I know it won't be the last. Every time I meet someone from a non-aviation background, I'm asked the same set of questions. Recently, I came across an inspiring article in the newspaper's Speaking Tree section. It conveyed: "Knowledge 📖 might be power 💪, but it's much more powerful when it's shared 🙌." So here it is, my very own LinkedIn channel: Aviation Xchange, where I talk about aviation’s AAM 😉.
