The #DARWINproject 3rd Super Iteration meeting was held on 9-10th January 2024 and was hosted by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Partners have made good progress on their individual tasks and the discussion focused on how these tasks will be successfully integrated during the upcoming months. ✅ #PilotStateMonitoring was demonstrated live, allowing partners to see how sleep, drowsiness and incapacitation will be detected. ✅ The algorithm for #PilotTaskloadMonitoring was presented and shown to be capable of measuring taskload for individual and multiple interacting tasks. ✅ The feasibility of integrating #DARWINsolution into a CS-23 aircraft has been assessed and realistic case scenarios have been selected for further testing. 🔜 We also prepared a detailed plan for the next activities to achieve the set milestones. We’re delighted to announce that the ASSIST Programme – designed to boost #aerospace innovation in the West Midlands – has been successfully completed, and we’re recognising this milestone at Farnborough Airshow. 🔎 The ASSIST project was a pilot focused on supporting lower-tier aerospace suppliers in the West Midlands - an initiative of the West Midlands Innovation Programme 2.0 (WMIP 2.0) - delivered by the MAA. It involves a funding matchmaking process with six companies: A&M Pure Precision, Accura Engineering, Alloy Wire International, Graves Aircraft Components, Kepston Limited, and MJ Sections Ltd. 🎉 Today, a new report has been officially published sharing the findings from this important project which produced valuable insights. In addition to the companies involved, we interviewed many more to understand their specific needs when it comes to UK funding mechanisms. 🤝 Building on this knowledge, the MAA is working with partners, the West Midlands Combined Authority, Innovate UK, UK Research and Innovation, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and the Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands to design more inclusive #innovation funding programmes.
