Airbus has unveiled the CityAirbus NextGen, a fully electric prototype designed for urban air mobility. With a wingspan of 12 meters, it’s set to fly with an 80 km range and a cruise speed of 120 km/h with its 8 rotors. It will now undergo various tests before its maiden flight within 2024. Will we see many of these up there? Who do you think will buy these? With a range of just 80km, I guess you will not want to schedule trips longer than 60km. So the only reason to use one of these seems to be to go across very congestioned cities. But then you need dedicated landing areas. And what about the interference with commercial flights?

NEO Aeronautics PTE. LTD.: Every ONE can FLY! CEO DESK: PRICING DISTANCE & PRICING EXPERIENCE.... It's been everyone dream to "zoom" around like the "jetsons" - saving time and being green. Are we there yet? Possibly by 2025 (and quite a few would claim 2024) commerical air taxis will start operations. We cheer but also wonder whether this mode of mobility would be economically sustainable under the proposed buisness model? As ARK's projection (below graph) showed a possible $180 flight with approx $70 /pax from JFK to Manhatten in the coming decade. Sounds good, but you might miss out the "in the coming decade"! We believe UAM will come, but not with the current business model. (How? Maybe can have a separate chat.) In the meantime, we focus on Experience - where Every ONE can FLY! Do sign up for this ultimate as our early experience program & beta testers! https://lnkd.in/d2gQQigX
