🌍 Understanding Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs): A Key Market Analysis Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) have become essential in the global shift towards sustainable energy. Known as Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in North America, Guarantees of Origin (GOs) in Europe, and I-RECs globally, these certificates verify and trade renewable energy attributes, playing a pivotal role in decarbonization efforts. EACs are crucial for promoting renewable energy, supporting corporate sustainability goals, and ensuring regulatory compliance. They offer market flexibility by enabling the separation of renewable attributes from physical electricity, allowing companies to support clean energy across diverse regions. With the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED II & III) and other policies driving their adoption, EACs are integral to meeting ambitious climate goals. However, challenges like market volatility and regulatory discrepancies remain. AFS Energy offers tailored solutions to help companies navigate these complexities, ensuring reliable and cost-effective renewable energy procurement. In the ongoing discourse about the imperative shift to renewable energy, let's delve into two additional pivotal measures and their potential implications: Promote Fairness in Renewable Energy Technologies: Revise national policies to expedite the implementation of renewable energy projects and attract private sector investments. Establish renewable energy targets in line with the 1.5°C goal as outlined in countries' climate action plans. Redirecting Energy Subsidies from Fossil Fuels to Renewable Energy: Funnelling the substantial fossil fuel subsidies, totalling $5.9 trillion in 2020, towards renewable energy initiatives. Enhancing efficiency, equity, and sustainability, thereby fostering economic growth, job creation, and public health. Tripling Investments in Renewables: Committing to a minimum annual investment of $4 trillion in renewable energy until 2030. Aligning the investment portfolios of global financial systems with the goals of the renewable energy transition. Collectively pursuing these strategies charts a course toward genuine energy security, steadfast power prices, and opportunities for sustainable employment. This underscores the pivotal role of renewables as the cornerstone for a resilient and environmentally friendly energy future #renewableenergy #answerthepollinpreviouspost #IBV

Are you leveraging the benefits of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for your renewable energy business? MCS is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme endorsed by the UK Government that certifies renewable energy installations and their installers. It supports adherence to high standards in installation practices and enhances consumer trust by demonstrating the quality and reliability of your services. Being MCS certified means your business can access valuable government incentives like the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), making your renewable solutions more attractive to customers. This certification is also a robust marketing tool that will set you apart in a competitive market and affirm your commitment to quality and sustainability. 🔗 Read our article: see the link in the comments below 👇 #RenewableEnergy #MCSCertification #Sustainability

Another reason to switch to Renewable Energy Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) was notified in mid-2023. After more than a year, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (ऊर्जा दक्षता ब्यूरो) released the Detailed Procedure for the Compliance Mechanism under CCTS. Under this compliance mechanism, obligated entities are required to meet greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity targets to be set by government. A key provision is that obligated entities using #RenewableEnergy whether through generation or procurement through power purchase agreements (PPAs) are considered to have ZERO GHG emissions. Thus, beyond the environmental benefits of reducing emissions, shifting to renewable energy offers a strategic advantage in complying with the carbon market compliance mechanism. This can be a new growth driver for RE in the coming years. #EnergyTransition #Sustainability

Is electrification the key to achieving global energy goals? To meet the 1.5 degrees Celsius reduction goals of 2030 and 2050, significant changes will need to be made to sustainably supply predicted global energy consumption. A report from International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) considers the role of electrification as an effective solution. The opportunities of electrification include reduced cost savings for energy systems and increased flexibility. Systemic innovation also has the potential to leverage innovations simultaneously across multiple systems, including market design, system planning and operation, and business models. Heating and cooling accounts for about half of global final energy consumption. Smart electrification strategies have the potential to notably reduce dependence on fossil fuels, reducing costs and environmental impacts. The journey towards decarbonisation is complex and requires innovative solutions. MRC remains committed to exploring and advising our clients on electrification and other emerging technologies and the best approaches to achieving their strategic goals. 🌎 Find out more about MRC projects: https://lnkd.in/dU3yxiCM 📑 Read the report from International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA): https://lnkd.in/dd5JdzKe #Consulting #Decarbonisation #Electrification #ElectricVehicles #Energy #Innovation #SustainableEnergy
