Do hard things. Let's take a moment to honor those who have sacrificed themselves for us. This weekend, let's come together as a community through fitness. Friendships are built through shared hardships, and fitness is a perfect way to connect with others. Whether you're taking on the Murph or another military, LEO, First Responder, or Government Organization workout, let's gather early before the heat gets to be too much, and suffer just a little. For those who are new to fitness, don't worry, it's scalable, measurable, and repeatable. Fitness can be fun and sometimes has a bigger meaning to it than just exercise. Let's remember that we are #strongertogether. #honor #military #fitness #crossfit #health
All for a good cause. Join the official Murph Challenge → https://lnkd.in/eDYtfHW9 The Murph Challenge is the Official annual fundraiser of the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, presented by Forged®. Murph is a CrossFit Hero workout that stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who died heroically in the line of duty in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Murph was introduced as a CrossFit Hero workout on Aug. 18, 2005, and has become a long-standing tradition observed by CrossFit and a broader global community of athletes. Thousands of CrossFit gyms program Murph each year on Memorial Day as a way to honor Lt. Murphy and all others who have served. Join us this Memorial Day. #Murph

STATE of MIND Science has shown we all have a chronological age and a cognitive age. While your chronological age is the number of years you've been alive, your cognitive age is the age you feel – or your state of mind. It's a great predictor of attitudes, behaviours and beliefs. Why are certain persons mental age younger you may ask ? Science again shows that this age disconnect is an actual thing : Our brains can essentially age at a different rate than our chronological years. Depending on your mind set, health, lifestyle, and personality, you could be much younger, or older, in brain years than you even realize. In a 2009 study called “Marketing to Seniors: Age Really is a State of Mind,” researchers found that seniors who are psychologically younger have more positive attitudes toward life satisfaction and aging than those who are cognitively older.

102-Year-Old WWII Air Force Captain Jack Hemmings Called Oldest Pilot A former Royal Air Force pilot has taken to the skies in a Spitfire at 102 years old. Jack Hemmings, an ex-squadron leader with Britain’s air force, is believed to be the oldest pilot to fly the World War II plane. What an Oarsome first 24hours from the team! I hope you’re all refreshing your YB apps every 4 hours! This is going to be an incredible race! Being the first HMS Oardacious 5-man crew, there was the debate as to the pros vs cons of having a 5th rower; The cons being: -even more limited space sharing 7metres for a month to rest, eat, sleep, wash, toilet etc; - the weight of the extra rower + their food/survival gear/emergency water etc (in calmer conditions will be a handicap) - there are only 2 cabins making a traditional ocean rowing 2h on/2hr off routine trickier to manage as you’re not always going to get a bed to sleep on in your off watch The pros: -our team are rowing a continuous cycle of roughly 2.5 hours on, followed by 1.5 hours rest meaning they will manage to keep 3 rowers on the oars at most times, something far more challenging for the fours; - they can manage load/injuries/defect prosecutions with an extra set of eyes; - The Royal Navy gets to give the adventure of a lifetime to an extra person 💪🏼 Keep going team! BZ!
We're not sure if this will become a feature of this crossing, but our first voice note back from the boat, was spoken in rhyme! 🗣️ • After shooting out of the marina, many people were left questioning "Why are they heading so far East"...eyebrows might have been raised, but it turns out this was all part of the plan! 🤓 • This is the only boat in the fleet that can feasible row three up for most of the crossing, and by doing so they have more power and are able to potentially take slight diversions to pick up better wind and better currents. 🌊 • And it seems to have worked! Whilst team Marduk took the lead early on, HMS Oardacious then swung right across the fleet, firing themselves back into a very strong position! • This race is certainly not won in a day, but a good first 24 hours on the water, certainly helps! 💪 • The crew are working with the following charity partners to provide #mentalhealth and #wellbeing support for Submariners and their families: • Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity Help - Jim's Story The Submarine Family • If you can support, please donate today at https://lnkd.in/eutwHFkv • The team are sponsored by: Jacobs Rolls-Royce NSSLGlobal Resilient Nutrition Babcock International Group Gill Marine Team Forces China Fleet Country Club • We are very proud to be working with our incredible outreach partners to inspire the next generation: SeaCadets Never Such Innocence Reach the World Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation Association of Wrens & Women of the Royal Naval Services • #HMSOardacious #atlantic2023 #atlanticcampaigns #submariner #worldstoughestrow #oceanrowing #oceanrowers #atlantic #rowing #adventure #mentalhealth

IN for 2024: ✨ Thriving in new challenges ✨ Not apologising for doing your job ✨ Being proud of yourself OUT in 2024: ✋ Anything opposite! Last year, I took part in the Commando Course Challenge with RMA - The Royal Marines Charity. A LEGITIMATE Royal Marines Training Course at Lympstone in Devon. I was no stranger to a military training ground (*nod to my 5 years of CCF) but I'd never done anything like this. It was possibly the toughest thing I've ever taken part in. But I didn't turn away from the challenge. I didn't say no to a single obstacle. And I remember telling myself, 'You CAN do this' - which is rare. As you will see, I'm falling like a sack of spuds from the monkey bars. But what this picture doesn't show is that before taking on the obstacle, I thought I would slip after one bar. Instead, I slipped reaching for the sixth. Pretty epic - hence the smiling face as I hit the deck. Moral of the story: you're so much stronger than you think. So, in 2024 I'll go on reaching for the 6th, 7th, and 8th monkey bars and take pride in my achievements. Since this day, I can proudly say I've not changed this mentality, and after nearly 6 fantastic months at McCann, I know I won't be stopping. Here's to smiling through all the challenges in 2024. 😊 #personaldevelopment #growthmindset #careergrowth #beatbluemonday

I am going to participate in this years Bataan Memorial Death March (virtual) a 26.2 mile ruck/hike in honor of the Bataan Death March in World Wa 2. I did this 12 years ago in person and want to give it another go this year. I am also using this year to raise money for Team Red, White & Blue please consider donating. (Link Below) Team Red White and Blue Mission: In the military, service members push the limits of their well-being to support the mission. That selfless service posture has always been necessary because service members of every era knew they may be called to war. As they move into civilian life, many veterans carry that mission-first mindset with them, neglecting their health in the process. We believe that veterans are America’s most resilient citizens — and it’s time for more veterans to prioritize their well-being first. Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) exists to guide them through that journey with real-life and virtual opportunities focused on building a healthier lifestyle because a strong focus on mental and physical health is critical to ensuring veterans’ best days are ahead. https://lnkd.in/e-P2_BmR #TeamRWB #Army #Bataan #AUSA #MPRA

Another small clip from my discussion with Hutch. This one is on taking advantage of the resources out there for transitioning from the military like non-profits and transition assistance programs.
We bring Veterans and High Net worth investors together to “Own More of America” and "Get their Time Back" through the purchasing of apartment buildings.
