Hello Friends and Family, As of midnight tonight, my campaign to raise $100,000.00 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) has launched and donations can be made. Finding a way to stop blood cancers from impacting lives is personal to me. I have been in remission from Lymphoma for the past 15 months, and hopefully, I will stay in remission. Blood cancers continue to impact the lives of people all over the world, including the four-month son of a close friend who is undergoing treatment for ALL right now. Cancer must be stopped. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is leading the charge to stop blood cancers by raising money for research, patient support, and advocacy. The Visionary of the Year campaign is a 10-week fundraising campaign from March 21st to May 30th. I have agreed to be a candidate for Visionary of the Year and hope to raise $100,000.00 over the next 10 weeks to support the LLS mission. We need your help to raise as much money as possible! Please help me put blood cancer out of business! At the risk of too much information, went to my Doctor this morning for my annual check up and got my bloodwork done with a PSA Test of .68 (normal). For those who are new to the scene or just forgot like me, the PSA test is a blood test used primarily to screen for prostate cancer. The test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate. The levels are - 0-2.5: Normal for a man 40-50 yrs. 2.5-3.5: Normal for a man 50-60 yrs. 3.5-4.5: Normal for a man 60-70 yrs. Doing this as a reminder as a part of our Mo'vember campaign at StarRez, Inc. as our company founder Alan Knipe passed due to prostate cancer. We are first and foremost continuing to grant families in need. (15 to be exact last month). 2. We have also teamed with the ChadTough group in collaboration to raise funds for DIPG research. We have committed a $5,000.00 donation. 3. Our final additional commitment is to a exciting new website This will be a all in one site for DIPG families that will assist with information/resources in all aspects of DIPG. However, none of them are more important than the titles of Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. One of the titles I also hold is Chair for the West Michigan Light the Night Walk. This cause has been near and dear to my heart for years now, as my little brother fought and lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, August 21st of last year.
