That reason being because we can make it happen, or should we say YOU can make it happen, we are just the driver. There’s always so much going on behind the scenes. 1. We are first and foremost continuing to grant families in need. (15 to be exact last month). 2. We have also teamed with the ChadTough group in collaboration to raise funds for DIPG research. We have committed a $5,000.00 donation. 3. Our final additional commitment is to a exciting new website This will be a all in one site for DIPG families that will assist with information/resources in all aspects of DIPG. 💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗 This October, the emblematic pink ribbons appear as the impact of breast cancer is brought to the forefront of national conversation. As reported by the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2023, an estimated 297,790 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Fortunately, due to the steadfast support and continuous progress in early detection and treatment methods, we have witnessed a remarkable surge in breast cancer survival rates in recent years. Today, the United States boasts a community of over 3.8 million breast cancer survivors, a testament to the strides made in the fight against breast cancer. Make an impact today by spreading awareness, support, and encouraging others to get screened. Together we can make a positive change. In Canada, Movember is the largest funder of research focused on translating laboratory findings into new prostate cancer treatment options and the second largest funder of overall projects relating to prostate cancer research, having invested over $107 million since 2008. And it doesn’t stop there all thanks to your support. Movember is announcing four new prostate cancer research programs, with a Canadian funding investment of $5.8M CAD, aimed at reducing the number of men whose disease becomes incurable and delivering more consistent and improved personalized care to reduce variation in prostate cancer treatment and outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gVVnZ6e8

However, none of them are more important than the titles of Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. One of the titles I also hold is Chair for the West Michigan Light the Night Walk. This cause has been near and dear to my heart for years now, as my little brother fought and lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, August 21st of last year. At the risk of too much information, went to my Doctor this morning for my annual check up and got my bloodwork done with a PSA Test of .68 (normal). For those who are new to the scene or just forgot like me, the PSA test is a blood test used primarily to screen for prostate cancer. The test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate. The levels are - 0-2.5: Normal for a man 40-50 yrs. 2.5-3.5: Normal for a man 50-60 yrs. 3.5-4.5: Normal for a man 60-70 yrs. Doing this as a reminder as a part of our Mo'vember campaign at StarRez, Inc. as our company founder Alan Knipe passed due to prostate cancer.
