🌐Excited to share about our visit to ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace 🛩️ We had the great opportunity today to attend one of the premier events in the aviation industry, organized by Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH and BDLI Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V. One of the today’s highlights was the panel discussion on sustainable aviation “From Berlin to Aerospace: High-tech from the capital region,” held at the ILA Future Lab Stage in Hall 2. The insights shared were truly eye-opening and inspiring. A special shoutout to Marielies Becker for the great organization and to the brilliant Dr. Johanna Sonnenburg, whose presentation on “Grün Fliegen”, cooperation with amd.sigma - strategic airport development GmbH was both engaging and forward-thinking. Her discussion on the synergy of eVTOLs and electric airplanes (eSTOLs) at regional airports, coupled with the concept of a highly optimized and sustainable airport terminal, was particularly noteworthy. We are also working on employing existing historic signature buildings, like THF Airport, as well as the many existing regional airports around Berlin in the concept. Nothing is more sustainable and elegant than existing buildings and smart re-use. Pioneering Zero-Emission Aviation with BALIS 2.0 We’re proud to announce our involvement in the BALIS 2.0 project, together with H2FLY (lead) and DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.) - generously supported by the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport. Together with our esteemed partners, we're embarking on a journey to develop and test a robust 350 kW fuel cell system, laying the foundation for emission-free regional aircraft. With funding of around €9.3 million, this initiative marks a significant step towards a greener future for air travel. Our collective efforts aim to revolutionize the aviation industry, enabling clean and efficient commercial regional flights of 40-80 seats. Stay tuned as we work towards our goal of conducting the first ground tests of the fuel cell system at the BALIS test site in 2025, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable aviation solutions. This week the new aircraft technology sector held some key events in #Brussels and Heart Aerospace was, of course, an active participant.
