💫 Do you ever have those days where #work stops feeling like work, and feels like #fun with friends? Tuesday was one of those days, and I think the expressions in this picture say it all. It really was a privilege--and joy!--to co-host FSG's "Flying Through Interference" webinar with Bobbi Silten earlier this week. Our panelists dropped nuggets of wisdom left and right; I took three pages of notes! I am also pretty sure I forgot we were live at one point; it felt like Bobbi and I were catching up and having an inspiring dinner conversation with four friends. As we wrapped, we asked each panelist to share a final sentence (some with semi-colons 🤔) of advice for those navigating interference in their work: 💬: Diana Blankman (Sanofi) talked about humility in the work, in learning, and in influencing business leaders. "Shared participation builds shared accountability." 💬: Reema Jweied-Guegel (AARP) emphasized curiosity, transparency, relationships and trust as critical enabling conditions to reduce interference. 💬: Josette Gbemudu (Merck) highlighted that this work is a journey, and journeys are both more fun and you go further when you bring others along. 💬: Patricia Mae Doykos, PhD (Bristol Myers Squibb) tied it all together with the powerful reminder of staying in relationship with and learning from internal AND external folks on our #healthequity journeys. It was a great few days of collaboration and innovation with the brilliant minds in life sciences, including my fantastic Envision colleagues Özge Özgüleryüz, Andrew Thompson, and Yahya Anvar. Here are my three biggest takeaways so far: - The urgent need for change in pharma's operating model is clear, but inertia is our biggest enemy. It's time to shake things up, perhaps with effective AI implementation and the right processes and people in place. - A future where healthcare data is the new currency is thought-provoking, with equal feelings of excitement and fear. - Trying everything on a buffet menu is something everyone needs to do at a conference at least once. Who says you can't have your insights and eat them, too?

Good stuff from Rock Health on Food as Medicine momentum. I love the experimentation and innovation in this space, especially as it relates to the big question: "How do we pay for this?"
