Our growth ambitions are taking industry standards to another dimension. These four new Super Post Panamax cranes, being delivered to APM Terminals Elizabeth, at the Port of New York & New Jersey, are just one manifestation of our goal to lift the standards of efficiency throughout our 60 terminals. The cranes, due to arrive early November, are part of a major upgrade at APM Terminals Elizabeth, and provide our customers with the assurance that we can handle even the very largest of container vessels. Featuring advanced control systems and enhanced lifting capabilities, they'll pair nicely with the top-tier expertise of our talented US teams. Designed with a 23-container outreach, the new cranes are capable of accommodating both Neo-Panamax and Ultra-Large Container Vessels (ULCVs) with capacities of up to 18,000 twenty-foot-equivalent containers (TEUs) and mark the culmination of crane orders made as part of a USD200M+ expansion project, initiated in 2018. Said Henrik Kristensen, APM Terminals Managing Director Americas, “The arrival of another batch of the Super Post Panamax cranes is exciting news, and just the latest in the significant investment upgrade which boosts our ability to serve our customers and accelerate their supply chains.” #Growth #APMTerminalsElizabeth #Supplychains

📣 Since the start of 2024, a total of 12 ULCS Megamax-class Container Ships of 18,000+ TEU capacity have passed through the Suez Canal. By comparison, before the Red Sea crisis between 20 and 30 vessels of this category traversed the Canal per week. Naturally, the number of vessels in this class passing via the Cape of Good Hope, a route ULCS Megamaxes have rarely taken historically, has increased proportionately. 📈 The latest AXSInsights report in Alphaliner allows you to drill down to individual vessels rerouting their #voyages due to the Red Sea crisis. 👉 From every single #vessel voyage to Operators' overview and total TEU capacity rerouted, our dashboard provides you with all the tools you need in this crisis. 💡 Focus on the Suez Canal, export raw data for your own #analysis, follow how operators adjust their strategies and a lot more https://bit.ly/4bb4GvV #redsea #redseacrisis #redseaglobal #suezcanal #maritime #shippingindustry #containershipping #liners #data #datanalytics #operators #containership

Recently, #ZPMC and #APM Terminals held a contract signing ceremony. These contracts encompass a diverse range of 47 units equipment orders, including 12 ship-to-shore (#STS) cranes for MVII in the Netherlands, 6 automated rail-mounted gantry (#ARMG) cranes and 14 one-over-one hybrid straddle carriers for the #Lazaro terminal in #Mexico, 4 STS cranes for the #TMII terminal in #Morocco, and 2 STS cranes along with 9 rubber-tired gantry (#RTG) cranes for #Abidjan. The contracts signed at this time are all for brownfield projects, aimed at enhancing existing operations with additional equipment. Notably, the MVII terminal project in the Netherlands will feature double-trolley cranes with a high degree of automation, positioning them among the largest and most efficient ship-to-shore cranes globally. The 14 straddle carriers destined for the Lazaro terminal, Mexico, mark the first batch of supply following the provision of 3 automated straddle carriers to APM Terminals Aarhus terminal by ZPMC. The TMII terminal in Morocco, one of APM Terminals' seven flagship hubs globally, will see its operational capabilities further bolstered by the addition of 4 double-trolley STS cranes.

🚢 Exciting Updates from the Port Authority! 🚢 The Port Authority expects two new ship-to-shore cranes to arrive at APM Terminals later today! While we do not have an exact arrival time, the Port is monitoring the vessel and will keep you all apprised of its progress. Director Driscoll has shared insightful comments on investments in the container terminal, updates on the deepening and widening project, and an overview of the new cranes. "The two new cranes represent a $40M investment by APMT, following the $366M channel deepening and widening project. In total, over $1B will be invested in the container terminal by 2030 through contributions from the Port, the State of Alabama, federal funding, and APMT." #MobileChamber #PortAuthority #APMTerminals #Investments #Infrastructure #EconomicGrowth #MobileAL

The current level of consolidation in the liner shipping industry measured for all deepsea routes combined is now 79.8 points, lower than the level estimated for the previous quarter and for the same quarter last year, but marginally higher than 2019, with the major driving factor being the overall increase in the consortia/alliances’ combined market shares. The description of the Consortia Market Concentration Index (CMCI) can be found in the MDST independent fact-finding study (link below) commissioned by the European Commission in the context of the evaluation process of the Consortia Block Exemption Regulation. https://lnkd.in/eyjmyccA #maritime #freight #shipping #consortia

Last week Colon Container Terminal S.A. (CCT) announced that it made an investment of US$ 23 million for 12 hybrid RTG cranes (tire-mounted gantry cranes). The acquired cranes will be located in Coco Solo Norte, Colón province. According to the Director of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), Max Florez Arias, the use of hybrid equipment reflects a commitment to sustainability and the reduction of CO2 emissions, constituting a step forward in terms of environmental preservation. The new equipment allows for stacking up to five containers high, with room for an additional container, enhancing port efficiency by reducing waiting times and boosting the terminal's handling capacity. 💡 CCT, part of the Evergreen Group, is the 3rd largest container port in Panama in terms of container movements. It handled more than 1.3 million TEUs (20 foot containers) in 2023 and saw an increase of 23% in container movements the first half of this year. 📣 Second hand sales fall for second consecutive year 📌 The number of cellular container #vessels sold in the second hand market declined for the second year running in 2023 to a total of 285 ships of 934,523 teu. 💡 After a record year for second hand transactions in 2021, demand from potential buyers has been impacted by the enormous pipeline of newbuilding #tonnage, which began in earnest from mid-2023, as well as the implementation of IMO’s new Carbon Intensity Indicator regulation. 👉 Broadly speaking, the latter is expected to render older, smaller and less energy efficient #ships increasingly expensive to operate, reducing their value and deployment potential. ✅ Subscribe to the Alphaliner Weekly Newsletter for further details on the topic https://bit.ly/2Na5HOA #imo #cii #containershipping #maritime #data #newsletter #shipping #containerships

Inspire and evolve tomorrow's leaders as a tribute to life and joy.
5dGreat move: Ambitions > Striving > Expanding > Accelerating. Mr. MMM would have been proud of your humble attitude - adding a new dimension. Lifting Global Trade - to a higher level, raising customers' expectations to a higher standard, and expanding the business culture beyond its usual limitations. Nothing better prepares the ground for such leadership practices than a spirit of Leadership that confirms in the day-to-day operations of the entire organisation than strict principles of good conduct with foresight, initiative, and reliability—Second to None standards of performance to customers and respect for the work being executed. Wishing won't do it so; only doing will. Congratulations and all the best to all of you, wishing Siegfried.
