Exciting news! Project CAELUS, led by AGS Airports with NHS Scotland, has won the Most Innovative Transport Project at the Scottish Transport Awards! For people in remote and rural parts of Scotland, accessing treatment can be a huge undertaking, sometimes taking up to two days with taxis, ferries, and planes. We're pioneering the UK’s first drone network to deliver medical supplies to remote areas. Working as part of this team, AtkinsRéalis is providing crucial infrastructure like mobile landing pods and recharging units. We've recently completed work on a key project at London Gatwick Airport - a new Rapid Exit Taxiway (RET). Now in use, the RET helps reduce delays and supports sustainability goals - including limiting carbon and noise emissions. Despite a Covid-19 pause, by working with the airport and other partners we were able to optimize the redesign. This cut carbon emissions by over 10%—equivalent to driving 1.3 million miles! We have been awarded one of four new professional contracts to support delivery of the Government Property Agency's Workplace Services Projects. Rand Watkins, GPA Client Director at AtkinsRéalis, said the new contract builds on our deep and strategic partnership with the GPA, having worked on the decarbonisation of the government office portfolio since 2021. Our digital teams have taken part in technical showcases at EDF (UK) Hinkley Point C recently to demonstrate some of the technology and software that’s helping to securely capture and visualise data at major projects, from the use of drones and robotic dogs to monitor sites, to the VR technology and immersive rooms that bring the data to life for remote teams.
