We need women to lead! We need women in power! We need women to support other women, and smart men supporting women. It’s time to make history! Go vote today!!! #primaryelection2024 #voteforwomen #MarianneWilliamson2024 #NikkiHaley2024 #voteforchange2024 #MakeHistory #womeninpolitics #womensupportingwomeninpolitics #womensupportingwomen

In some ways it feels like 3 days together isn’t enough. That we are just getting started. #NAWBO sisters in Washington DC remind me that we are here to support each other and sometimes the best way to get to know each other is through adversity! When there are gaps, we step in. My Washington DC big takeaway… if we want to advocate for women in business, we need to vote and elect women politicians into office. They often sponsor and promote the bills that support women because they also GET IT! Not that others aren’t willing to support the bills… just a lot harder to create momentum. #microbusiness

Voice matters...your voice matters. We applaud Dr. Patricia Campos-Medina for her voice and the stand she is taking to self-empower, ensuring access and inclusion for herself as a candidate running for office. It is simply unacceptable to be a woman who must face men who are both physically and organizationally blocking her from access to democracy. More importantly, blocking experienced women and multicultural women from their potential to run government, which directly impacts the lives of people, communities, education, health care, small businesses, corporations, etc., means that certain important issues involving women ultimately don't get addressed with urgency or importance. Note: Latina Surge National 501c3 nonprofit is an educational and charitable organization. It is non-political and non-partisan in its mission to advocate and educate for the advancement of women, most especially underrepresented and underserved women, across all areas in society. We encourage our members and allies to share stories of self-empowerment, especially for multicultural women who continue to face barriers and take a stand to define access and inclusion for themselves based on the merits of their experience and aptitude. 💡As Latinas, our voices matter! As research reflects, we have so much to lose when we put ourselves out there, against the wall of systemic racial challenges. Yet, we are resilient because we have the ever-present deep determination to achieve equity and justice. I implore anyone interested in understanding just how blatant the challenges are to hear this interview of Dr. Patricia Campos-Medina with Mark J. Bonamo of #NJNow. Dr. Campos-Medina is fierce in using her voice for women's justice, and just as determined in taking a stand to self-empower, ensuring access and inclusion for herself as a candidate running for office. It is simply unacceptable to be a woman who must face men who are both physically and organizationally blocking her from access to democracy. ⁉️Hermanas, what are your thoughts? My view: blocking experienced multicultural women from their potential to run government, which directly impacts the lives of people, communities, education, health care, small businesses, corporations, etc., means that certain important issues involving women ultimately don't get addressed with urgency or importance.

🏛️Join the #civility pledge movement initiated by Mayor Marianne Meed Ward (C.Dir.). Details: https://lnkd.in/gAF6t7xC We pledge to: 1. Support each other and call out #abuse and #harassment when we see it or experience it; 2. Call on all our allies to stand with us to support women in office and call out all forms of abuse and harassment; 3. Call on all elected officials to uphold the highest standards of conduct, focusing on #respectful debate of the issues and not personal attacks; 4. Call on the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of individuals who speak out against abuse, or who experience abuse, providing them with the necessary support and resources.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to and signed the H.E.R. Halton pledge back in May to end harassment of women in government. We have started a movement -- with the pledge being picked up nationally by the Canadian Association of Feminist Parliamentarians! We are now working on what are our next steps and intend to open up our original H.E.R. pledge and invite any elected officials who want to sign on to reach out to my office. We will keep a rolling update, including on my website. If any elected official hasn't done so and would like to, please let us know and we'll add new names as they come in. I also encourage elected officials to reach out to their own networks of women to include anyone who wishes to participate. Learn more and read a copy of the CAFP pledge here: https://lnkd.in/gda7d5zK
