Agency owners are constantly told that there are only two ways to win clients: A. Inbound marketing by itself Where we wait around for prospects to find us, constantly paying tech companies for the privilege of interacting with people we could help today if only they knew we existed. B. Cold outreach and spam Where we annoy and alienate our finite markets, implying or outright demanding that prospects buy immediately regardless of their situation. In 2022, I published Relationship Sales At Scale because I was pissed off about this false dichotomy. Both are losing strategies in today’s crowded and skeptical markets where the finite resource is trust. If your sales process is consultative, know that there is a third path, one that's empowered our clients to build reliable business development systems through leveraged yet tasteful and targeted outreach. Here's x5 simple ways to start winning in today's "digital" economy as a biz owner—that'll lead to more predictable, easier and more consistent revenue. None are rocket science. Most just take a little grit. Many of your competition won't bother. Ego will get in the way and they'll put too much weight on what strangers on the Internet think of them—over their family (which is exactly why you should). #1 - 1x short social post written to resonate with your ideal customer (20 mins per day). Struggling to start? (You don't need to pay for a LinkedIn course). Pick x1 real person, forget the rest, write with them in mind daily. Write as you speak. Add value. Share unique insights/perspective. Have an opinion. Get better at writing as you go. Stop worrying too much about vanity metrics—you can't spend like and comments. "But Rich, who am I to share stuff online?" If you're qualified and willing to charge £££ for your work, then you're qualified to share a bit of that experience for free. Start today. #2 - create a simple doc and call it "25/25". List the top 25 problems that your ideal customer faces (related to your solution). Then list the top 25 symptoms (knock on effects of these problems). Most won't be aware of the real problem yet. But they'll recognise the symptoms. Market to the symptoms. Add to this doc daily as you gain more real insights from daily convos with your market. You'll never be short of content again. #3 - get on a guest podcast. Every f*cker has one so it shouldn't be too hard. Showcase the recording on your profile (and other touch points). It's an opportunity to guilt-free talk about you/your mission/your business/your value prop. Your new 24/7 digital sales rep. #4 - create x1 high quality/authority building "lead magnet". That positions you as someone who knows a thing or 2 about what they do. This is your new business card. Use as a golden handshake when making new connections (digitally and IRL). #5 - retain a few quid in the kitty from your next sales to "boost" any organic posts that perform well. Not one with random likes from your mates and Auntie. But engagement from potential people who may actually pay you one day. Strike while the iron is hot using LI ads (targeted specifically to ideal customers) to create more inbound connections. Follow up all inbound engagement. Take offline at the first opportunity. I was going to add more. But I reckon if you just do the above in the next 6 months you're going to be very thankful you made a start today. Final bit... List x5 reasons why you won't do it? List x5 reasons why you should? Make a call...

After talking to a couple of B2B founders and heads of marketing last week, I'm *shocked* to see how many think content repurposing for socials isn't an option because: “They don’t have enough content published online to repurpose their winning content.” Now look. The journey from your first 500K to 5 million in revenue is not just about growth but also about smart retention strategies? Great advice from Jacob Suckow on our podcast, Equipped: Focus on the 'Golden Middle': Most companies we work with are in this revenue range. They're at a critical stage where in-house teams become more viable. But here's the catch: It's not just about making it to the next level; it's about nurturing what you already have. Revenue Growth through Email Marketing: We help businesses tap into a highly profitable channel - their existing customer base. Why chase cold traffic when you can maximize the list of your top purchasers? Creating Lifelong Customers: It's not just about a one-time purchase. It's about turning one-time buyers into lifelong fans. Email marketing isn't just sending random content; it's about creating personalized experiences. Behind the Scenes: In the past weeks, we've been creating sales funnels, running webinars, and launching campaigns. All these are geared towards leveraging your backend and retention. Remember, a happy customer is your best repeat customer. The key to scaling is not just new customer acquisition. It's about maximizing the potential of those who've already shown loyalty to your brand.
