#MidweekMotivation 🎥🏀🎤 #BasketballLegends “The American Basketball Hall of Fame Foundation thanks the Ohio Media School and student interns for doing a great job helping to cover the induction ceremony in Rochester, MI.” Russell Johnson Ohio Media School would like to thank Russell Johnson for providing another excellent real-time internship opportunity to film and interview athletes and coaches being inducted into the 2024 American Basketball Hall of Fame in Rochester, Michigan. The value of this experience is immeasurable and the mentorship outstanding as our media interns hone their skills both in front and behind the camera and learn from a pro to be a pro. Intern Lead Aaron Silvers shared his experience - “Despite some setbacks, including our lead interviewer/producer sidelined due to sickness, our dedicated media team rallied to make everything happen. “A huge thanks to alum of the Sports Broadcasting Program, Benjamin Parsons, and Radio & TV Production Program student Charles Suggs for their crucial roles on the Red-Carpet at this Hall of Fame Induction. “Before heading out, I purchased a basketball for autographs and checked that all equipment was working well, for the next day. “While there were some technical challenges and last-minute battery issues, the interviews with legendary players and coaches went smoothly and without a hitch. The event was a great success, and provided us the real-time opportunity to capture memorable moments of recognition and achievement. “Each new experience provides our intern team the opportunity to grow in our craft and feel more confident in our skills, while adjusting to the fast pace and pressure of live entertainment. “I was proud to represent Ohio Media School and to head home with the signed basketball as a symbol of basketball legends' achievements as well as our own. “I will present the autographed basketball to Ohio Media School to represent the doors opened and networks built through the meaningful internship experiences presented to me. “I am proud to share this piece of history to inspire other students to also reach for their professional dreams.” Congratulations to the American Basketball Hall of Fame Foundation, and Russell Johnson, and thank you for providing this excellent experience for our future media All-Stars!! #learnfromaprotobeapro #internshipsmatter #SportsProduction #excellenceineducation John P. Amber extends her gratitude to the CAB Board, Audacy, Inc., Ohio Media School, and her family and friends for their unwavering support as she ventures into the world of Television and Radio Broadcasting. Amber currently holds positions as an Events Coordinator at Audacy, Inc., Promotions Coordinator at the Cleveland Monsters, and Sales Associate at the National High School Football Hall of Fame. She is also a volunteer at the Playhouse Square STARS Program. Amber is actively expanding her skill set on both sides of the camera. With experience interviewing notable athletes, politicians, and entertainers, Amber's talent as a producer and editor shines through. She is a rising star destined for success. Simon chose Colorado Media School for its convenience and opportunities. Since graduating, he has been utilizing the diverse media skills he learned, such as show production, camera work, video editing, and communication in his daily duties. With aspirations to create feature films or write and direct a sci-fi TV series, Simon's advice to current students is to approach their courses with dedication. By demonstrating commitment to their career goals, students can receive invaluable resources and knowledge from instructors. As a seasoned poet and writer deeply passionate about science fiction, Simon has been an integral part of Denver's poetry community for over two decades. With experience hosting live performances at venues like the Mercury Cafe Open Mic, Simon's background as an English teacher also shines through his extensive knowledge of literature and mythology. In addition to his work at WeatherNation, Simon thrives as a freelance photographer and videographer.
