Does your company have a vested interest in the success of the Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems #EIFS industry? If it does, then it should be a part of the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA). Founded in 1981, EIMA is a North American non-profit trade association - accredited by ANSI - American National Standards Institute - that is dedicated to advancing and promoting the #EIFS industry. Throughout its history, EIMA has played a pivotal role in shaping industry standards and advocating for the interests of its members at local, regional, and national levels. Here are just some examples: * Spearheaded research conducted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory that not only proved that EIFS outperformed #brick, #stucco and #fibercement in tests measuring energy efficiency, moisture intrusion and temperature control, but it also enabled the system to be included in the International Code Council's building codes - the #irc and #ibc. * Facilitated an integrated #advocacy effort that prevented an EIFS ban and resulted in a major industry victory in the City of Minneapolis. In fact, the members of the #planningcommission reversed the staff recommendation and voted unanimously to allow EIFS on every part of the building. * Published a series of trademarked technical documents that promote best practices for EIFS and are widely used in #construction education. * Supported the industry-standard, contractor-education program, "EIFS Doing It Right(R)" put on by the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry. With a new strategic plan taking effect in 2022, the goals of the industry are more tightly aligned with the work of the association than ever before. Additionally, today's #economic and #climatechange environment are laser-focused on #affordability and #energyefficiency in the #builtenvironment, which are big parts of the EIFS wheelhouse. Consequently, now is the ideal time to invest in the EIFS industry and join EIMA's manufacturer and associate members, including ADEX Systems Inc., Dryvit Systems, Master Wall Inc., Parex USA, Inc., Sika Facades, Sto Corp., Dow, Saint-Gobain ADFORS, Atlas Molded Products, ClarkDietrich, ROCKWOOL Group, WACKER, Wind-lock Corporation and many more, in supporting the EIFS industry. www.eima.com #eima #tradeassociation #risingtides #industryefforts

Association CEO - Strategic Marketer - Chief Executive Officer at EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA)
Why join a #tradeassociation like the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA)? For over 100 years, trade associations have deployed programs and services that improve common business conditions and interests for members. Because associations act on behalf of an entire industry, programs are typically more feasible and cost-effective to implement at the industry level rather than by individual members. Additionally, industry associations (like EIMA) are typically exempt from Federal income tax. In fact, the Internal Revenue Service encourages companies to support their industry associations by allowing members to deduct dues and charges related to trade association meetings/conventions as #businessexpenses. With these advantages, it is not surprising that Gale, part of Cengage Group, lists over 24,000 American membership associations and other non-profit organizations of national and multi-national scope in their Encyclopedia of Associations. Given today’s energy-conscious political and economic environment, now is also an opportune time to join EIMA - the trade association for the Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (#EIFS) industry. EIFS is a modern, engineered exterior cladding solution, and today's EIFS with Drainage offers superior characteristics with respect to #energyefficiency, #financialvalue, #performance and #designflexibility. And since Architecture 2030 says that the built environment generates 42% of annual global CO2 emissions, EIFS' characteristics are something to think about when comparing it to #traditional, #heavyweight #cladding materials that have been around since the days of the steam engine. To learn more, check out EIMA's post below or go to www.eima.com There has never been a better time to consider EIFS for a #newconstruction or #retrofit project, and there has never been a better time to join EIMA. #eima #tradeassociation #industrysupport

Commercial Partner Lead, Lower Thames Crossing || Leading Strategy & Transformation on Major Programmes
What an insightful and diverse discussion. Amazing what we can learn when bringing together and challenging our views across the industry, both at a macro and micro scale across the whole project delivery lifecycle. Quick fire takeaways: 🔹 Make Standardisation the ‘norm’ ; ask for it in procurement and challenge delivery partners to push the boundaries 🔹 Prioritise which outcomes projects are delivering to, to enable quicker decision making around aligned interests. And tell stakeholders why you’ve prioritised in that way! 🔹Incentivise, engage with, and transform our supply chains to enable them to be successful and lower barriers to entry for new entrants who can be positive disrupters Thanks to John Oliver for excellent and on time chairing and to the views of Karine Bartle Emma Whigham James Franklin who have educated me on all things productivity in their worlds. #CECONF24 #construction #constructingexcellence #productivity #insightful #learning
Today's third panel around Future Major Projects has been a fantastic opportunity to dig into how we can transfer learning from major projects to wider industry. The discussion explored the barriers to productivity within construction and actions we can take to improve this across the industry. Huge thanks to our Chair and panellists John Oliver, James Franklin, Emma Whigham, Hannah Kitcherside and Karine Bartle #CECONF24

Key to sustainable remediation must ensure that environmental, economic and social principles are adhered to. Odour can impact each of these and can be a critical issue which is why we are #PROUD to be partaking in sharing best practice and supporting the development of this important guidance. #WeAreVHE #OdourControl #SustainableRemediation
Odour can be a highly emotive issue and a significant potential nuisance on many construction sites. The situation is often more complex on brownfield sites, particularly those with legacy contamination involving Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other malodourous gases being disturbed. CIRIA proposal 3291 aims to provide a good practice guide for managing and mitigating odour and VOCs on brownfield sites. Current funders include Cognition Land and Water Limited, KeltbrayRemediation, ST WILLIAM HOMES LLP(part of the Berkeley Group Plc), John F Hunt Regeneration, VHE Construction plc, Tetra Tech Europe, Worley, Jackson Remediation and SGN. If you want to be involved in the first guidance of its kind in the UK, please let me know. More can be found here https://lnkd.in/eCUQhCbM

I am excited to share an important topic close to my heart: the reduction of whole life carbon in the built environment. Lately, we have often focused on the use phase and energy-intensive industries, which produce essential products for construction. EFCA’s recently published position paper, the Whole Life Carbon Roadmap, places the spotlight on the carbon emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of our built environment. This document not only sheds light on the trade-offs we encounter in reducing the carbon footprint of our built surroundings but also emphasizes the necessity of harmonized measurement and reliable data. These foundational pillars are essential for making a lasting impact. In our commitment to a more sustainable future, it is important to remember that carbon reduction should not solely focus on buildings. Our infrastructure offers immense potential for improvement as well. By adopting a holistic approach, we can unlock purpose-driven and future-proof designs that produce the best overall results. EFCA is a strong advocate of an EU-wide approach that strengthens existing regulatory measures while avoiding counterproductive, rigid requirements, and I feel privileged to be part of EFCA’s efforts to drive positive chance in our industry. Let us embrace innovation and all-encompassing designs that consider the best solutions for our buildings and infrastructure throughout their entire lifecycle.
