Missouri’s General Assembly begins convening in less than a month. Pre-filing of bills has already started. Last year was a tough session. This year will be a tough session. There will be good legislation introduced and some not so good. Your voice as a Missouri child care provider, or as parent, or as a business leader will be needed. Stay tuned for how to get involved. Additionally, the Board of Directors of Child Care Aware of Missouri has invested in a lobbyist this session (we do NOT use state or federal funding for these efforts; this is why we fundraise) to keep us better informed and to help move the needle on a handful of things many advocates have been fighting for plus a few other things we’d like to see addressed. These include but are not limited to safety and quality in child care (there must be funding behind it), education scholarships for child care educators (we’ve already been informed a budget cut is coming to T.E.A.C.H MISSOURI scholarships), child care educator compensation, innovative thinking to build child care capacity that includes existing and new child care programs, and increased and sustained subsidy reimbursements to help child care programs and families of a broader income level pay for child care. You can help fund these efforts, even if it’s a $10 or $20 donation. It all adds up. Click here - https://lnkd.in/gmF4_Esp Thank you, Robin Phillips, CEO

Today is Giving Tuesday! As we usher in the season of giving, we invite you to join us in a special cause - helping local families who have a child with Autism. You’re not just making a donation; you’re giving hope, spreading joy, and making the holiday season brighter for local families in need. Your contribution will provide holiday gifts to those who may otherwise go without. We are asking you to consider a one-time gift or make a commitment that lasts all year long. By giving a monthly donation, you can help us continuously support families in need throughout the year. Your monthly contribution will ensure we can plan ahead and reach more families, not just during the holiday season but every day. It’s a simple and effective way to make a lasting impact. Imagine the joy and relief a family feels when they receive a holiday meal or a gift for their child. Now, imagine being able to provide that joy every month. That’s the power of a monthly donation. Join us in our mission to support local families in need. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Let’s make this holiday season a memorable one for all! Calling everyone who LOVES SOMEONE WITH DYSLEXIA!! REED Charitable Foundation needs your voice and your story. Despite 1-in-5 being impacted by dyslexia, we don’t hear about it enough. So this journey can feel incredibly lonely and misconceptions and myths continue to persist. But we cannot expect people to care about something they don’t understand. Especially if WE - those of us impacted - don’t talk about it and raise awareness. If we want to stop feeling alone and feel understood - we have to have the courage to share our stories. The good, the bad & the ugly. Because dyslexia is all of those things and more. So…please take the time, it doesn’t have to be long and share a story with us that we can share in the month of October in honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month. Your journey matters and we want to celebrate and honor YOUR WHY❤️ Share your "why" and your journey by filling out this brief form https://lnkd.in/e4ShXbvG. Feel free to upload a photo to help tell your story. #UntilEveryTeacherIsTrained #UntilEveryChildCanRead #dyslexia #dyslexiaawarenessmonth

This month celebrates National Make a Difference to Children, a time to recognize the impact we can have on children's lives. Our involvement today can shape their futures, providing them with the support and encouragement they need to thrive. Whether through mentoring, volunteering, or simply being a positive role model, every action can make a significant difference. Being involved in a child's life impacts their future by fostering self-esteem, providing guidance, and offering a sense of stability. When children know they have someone who believes in them, they are more likely to pursue their goals and overcome challenges. Our presence can inspire resilience, confidence, and a positive outlook, helping them navigate the complexities of growing up. To observe National Make a Difference to Children Month, consider volunteering your time at local schools, youth programs, or community centers. Donate to organizations that support children's education and well-being, or become a mentor. Spread awareness by sharing stories of positive impact and encouraging others to get involved. Together, we can create a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. #educate #empower #prevent #childprotection #PTWF Paving the Way: https://lght.ly/7bcdbg2 Parent Tool Kit: https://lght.ly/mkagjj

This #GiveBIG we ask that you join us to support kids and their families healing from domestic violence (DV) at Broadview. Research shows that traumatic experiences in childhood – like DV – can affect health and economic outcomes for life. The good news is that studies also show that children who participate in positive youth development programs are less likely to experience poverty as adults. That's why the incredible staff at our Broadview Shelter & Transitional Housing work one-on-one with kids to build on their strengths and support families on their path toward stability: all while using fun and play. Together, we can disrupt generational cycles by investing in today's youth at Broadview. Make a one-time donation ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gMpUtPJN

Today, on June 12th, we come together to observe the #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour, a poignant reminder of the urgent need to eradicate child labor and ensure that every child has the right to a safe and nurturing childhood. The 2024 theme, "Let’s act on our commitments: End Child Labour!" resonates deeply, calling for collective action to end the exploitation of children in the workforce and uphold their fundamental rights. On this significant day, we express our profound appreciation for Save the Children US and their unwavering dedication to protecting children's rights and well-being. Since its inception, Save the Children has been at the forefront of advocating for children's rights, providing essential services, and empowering communities to create a better future for children worldwide. The words of Save the Children's founder echo a powerful message: "Save the Children is often told that its aims are impossible – that there has always been child suffering and there always will be. We know it’s impossible only if we make it so. It’s impossible only if we refuse to attempt it." This philosophy underscores the organization's unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of children. If you are inspired to support Save the Children's impactful work and contribute to ending child labor, you can make a donation at: https://lnkd.in/e4tEjCBQ]. Your generosity will help Save the Children continue their vital mission and create a brighter future for vulnerable children. Together, let us stand united in our commitment to end child labor and create a world where every child is protected, educated, and empowered to thrive. #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour #EndChildLabour #SaveTheChildren #ChildRights #Donate #MakeADifference

Founder of Glowry Girls Foundation, Vice Chair of the Vihiga County Youth Board, Communications Intern at YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa, article Writer, Radio presenter and a Chess Coach
At the tender age of 21, I took a bold step in response to the unsettling prevalence of teenage pregnancies in my community, marked by poverty and humble beginnings. In founding my Girl Child organization, my motivation wasn't rooted in personal experience but rather in a resolute commitment to proactively address a pressing issue. The journey has been a tapestry of challenges, from receiving desperate calls in the dead of night for sanitary towels to navigating the unpredictable landscape of donations. There have been moments when the weight of the obstacles made giving up seem like a tempting option. However, in those moments, the core mission that propels me forward becomes even more pronounced. While resources may be scarce, the mission is boundless. Parents reach out, seeking support, and there are times when I don't have the pads they desperately need. The process of soliciting donations from individuals can be disheartening – some respond generously, while others do not. Yet, in the face of these challenges, the resilience forged by the mission at hand keeps me steadfast. This journey is not just mine; it's a collective endeavor to empower every girl with education and opportunity. In a world where resources may be limited, our determination knows no bounds. Join me in this pursuit, as we work towards a future where every girl has the chance to blossom and thrive. 💪🌸 #GirlChildEmpowerment #CommunityResilience #EducationForAll"
