Burton joined the steering committee of the Clean Chemistry and Materials Coalition from the Outdoor Industry Association to learn and share resources on chemicals management best practices. The mission is to break trail in innovation and adoption of safer chemicals that deliver functional, durable, and trustworthy materials and products to our customers. "I think that Craig would be proud that every new board that comes out of our new R&D space reflects his spirit and legacy." - Jake Burton Carpenter Today, we proudly celebrate the 13th anniversary of Craig's, our 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art proto shop and R&D lab located at #BurtonHQ and named in honor of Craig Kelly. To commemorate the occasion, we produced 13 limited edition boards to be given away to our Tier 3 First Chair Loyalty members. Designed by #BurtonEmployee Norm Thibault, an R&D Mechanist who's worked at Craig's since it opened, the board's graphic is a tribute to Craig. The Raven represents the seven lives lost in the backcountry of the Selkirk Mountains and reminds us of Craig's presence and spirit. At the entrance of Craig's, on top of an original snowboard press, there's a metal sculpture of a raven to remind us that Craig is always watching and inspiring everything we do.
