I’m excited about the new adidas x FARM Rio Collection for the Rio-based club, Flamengo. This new collection features t-shirts, dresses, shorts, coats, and even flip-flops. But its main piece… … is a new pre-match jersey, which the team will wear in upcoming matches. It showcases: → The cadence of Samba. → The curves of Rio’s sidewalks. → Tropical flowers and vultures (a nod to one of Flamengo’s nicknames). The campaign features generations of women — from grandmothers to granddaughters — all wearing the pieces. I, personally, really like how they’re adjusting their designs for other markets for athleisure wear. Even people who wouldn’t normally wear Adidas are showing interest! I also think it’s a brilliant way for clubs, specifically, to increase their brand awareness and fanbase representations away from traditional jerseys. What do you think of this new collection? Wouldn’t it be great if our mothers and grandparents could wear something representing our favorite clubs?

New Work! When Johannes Leonardo & Adidas approached us with an exciting project to highlight three of their iconic shoes ahead of Fashion Week 2023, we recognised the opportunity to create something truly special. Our task was clear—find iconic archive footage that grounds the film in history and showcases the global influence of Adidas shoes within a wide variety of subcultures. We embarked on a journey through an array of archive sources, spanning decades. From vintage shots of 60s athletes sporting the initial shoe designs to candid conversations with Run DMC about their cherished Adidas kicks, we explored textured glimpses of 80s Japan, 90s New York skate culture, and the evolving role of these shoes in fashion culture. The outcome? Three captivating films that exude authenticity and genuine engagement. This case study highlights the benefits of using archive content and how seamlessly blending it with live action enhances authenticity. The workflow was a streamlined collaboration between Director, Agency and The Director Studio. Finally, our clearance team diligently handled the complexities of the content clearance, ensuring the material's commercial usability. We’re ecstatic to have worked on this project and blown away by the results. #licensing #stockfootage #clearance #ugc #foundfootage #advertising #archive #archivefootage #commercials #filmproduction

Adidas has taken legal action to block FIVE trademark applications filed by LIV Golf to protect its “L” logo. The legal basis of Adidas' claims is that the LIV Golf "L" logo: “...incorporate[s] three stripes in a manner that is confusingly similar to the Adidas Marks in appearance and overall commercial impression.” The apparel company believes that consumers will confuse clothing products bearing the LIV Golf "L" with its products. So are the claims legit? It is going to be a tough case for Adidas. If you recall, Adidas recently lost a similar case against clothing maker Thom Browne. The jury in that case essentially found that Adidas does not have exclusivity to stripes on clothing. The most likely outcome of a case like this is a settlement agreement in which LIV Golf agrees to some limitations on how its "L" logo might appear on products, thus limiting the chances it would look like Adidas' stripes. So What do you think? Is it possible that consumers will confuse the two logos? You can read the full Notice of Opposition filed with the USPTO on Monday here: https://lnkd.in/grXqJT3s #adidas #liv #golf #trademarks

The Football Team That Finally Got Fashion Right. Vogue-produced campaigns, fashion week events and special relationships with Off-White and PUMA Group have helped Italian giant AC Milan infiltrate the industry where other clubs have fallen short. We love when fashion and sports mix. It’s a great way to elevate the brand onto new eyes and platforms. When AC Milan took the field this month in its home game against Napoli — a clash of two of Italy’s most historic football clubs — the Milanese team donned blacked-out jerseys designed by Los Angeles streetwear brand Pleasures. It was an unlikely partnership: the punk-inspired indie streetwear label worn by celebrities like Kylie Jenner and The Weeknd had no prior connection to the Italian sports mainstay. But the commercial reception to it was phenomenal. The initial launch of the collaboration, when jerseys went on sale for fans, was AC Milan’s most successful day in terms of e-commerce sales, up 69% above its last record, according to the team. The $180 cream-coloured version of the jersey proved to be the biggest hit and has become an all-time bestseller, now trading on StockX for as much as $290. Incredible! AC Milan has pursued a number of partnerships — including tapping Off-White as its official “style and culture curator” — since its $1.2 billion acquisition by US investment firm RedBird Capital Partners in August 2022. Under new ownership, the team has positioned itself as not only a #footballclub but a lifestyle brand, creating new #revenue streams through thoughtfully designed merch that goes beyond one-off #collaborations. A New Playbook for Fashion in Sports AC Milan is by no means alone in trying to diversify its brand using fashion. In recent years, teams and leagues across the spectrum of sports have begun to regard themselves as cultural entities, hiring creative directors, collaborating with designers and even opening fashion-forward flagship stores. We are excited to see more sports team embrace the “AC Milan” approach. #nyfw #milanfashionweek #lfw #sportsfashion #acmilan #creativedirector #luxuryfashion #sportswear #sportsandentertainment #sportsbusiness #italianfashion #footballfinance

Authenticity 500 Index #15 adidas Rooted in heritage and driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, Adidas stands as a true embodiment of brand authenticity. From its humble origins as a shoemaker's workshop in Germany, the company's commitment to pushing cultural and performance boundaries is palpable. The iconic Three Stripes logo not only symbolizes quality but also represents a powerful connection between sport and positive life transformations. This connection is vividly illustrated through initiatives like the "Run for the Oceans" campaign, where Adidas intertwines environmental consciousness with athletic passion. With each stride it takes, Adidas exemplifies genuine authenticity by fusing its storied legacy with a forward-looking approach that shapes both sport and society. FROM FOUNDER "People may call me the father of the modern sports industry, but all I am is an athlete that saw a benefit to improving equipment." - Adolf Dassler FROM OUR COMMUNITY "They have held true to their brand of multicultural diversity without divisive messaging. They are urban fashion sportswear that appeals to all cultures without pointing out culture. And yet still hold their traditional sportswear line top of mind for athletic performance. They have mastered the ability to make the consumer (of all ages & nationalities) feel that their product is for them." - Roxanne A. “They have endured the natural selection of entire generations. 🔥 Tonight's #trailblazingtuesday shines a light on the #SeAcabo movement and how brands can support these athletes as they ignite a movement in Spain, and throughout the world. Remember Nike's Kaepernick Dream Crazy ad? Despite the initial heat Nike took when it came out in 2018, their support of Kap resonated with fans & consumers and their stock grew 5% YoY, adding a $6B of value. Now picture this: What if a brand rallied behind Spain's Women's National Team & Jenni just like Nike did for Kap (without the controversy)? Imagine an adidas SeAcabo Spain Jersey (the Federation's sponsor) featuring the players' names on the back? What about a Zara (Spain's most valuable brand) SeAcabo leisure line? Seizing the moment is gold. Fans crave ways to champion these athletes and their causes. Brands, let's turn supporters into champions! 🚀 #trailblazers #SeAcaboSupport Trailblazing Sports Group

🌟History of Adidas Puma The Riveting Tale of Two Siblings Who Shaped the Sportswear Industry Did you know that two of today's biggest sports brands were founded by siblings? It’s a story that's both fascinating and inspiring. 🤯 Once upon a time in Bavaria, Germany, Adolf and Rudolf Dassler were partners in the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory. Their shoes even graced the 1936 Berlin Olympics! 🏅 But post-WWII tensions led to a split in 1948. From this split, two iconic brands were born: On August 18, 1949, Adolf ("Adi") founded Adidas – a blend of his nickname and last name. 👟 In June 1949, Rudolf started Puma, originally named "Rudo." These brands have since become symbols of innovation, performance, and style. The story of the Dassler brothers is a testament to how rivalry can fuel creativity and success. 💡 Even from a split, greatness can emerge. 🚀 To know more such intriguing brand stories do follow DIPAYAN BHATTACHARJEE #Adidas #Puma #Entrepreneurship #BusinessHistory #Inspiration #Innovation #Sportswear
