A trauma-informed approach to care acknowledges that health care organizations and care teams need to have a complete picture of a patient’s life situation — past and present — in order to provide effective health care services with a healing orientation. Adopting trauma-informed practices can potentially improve patient engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcomes, as well as provider and staff wellness. In this episode I highlight the meaning, benefits and core principles of trauma informed care on the mat and beyond. Please let me know your questions and feedback in the comments!

I love this concept of asking the body! As a practitioner, having a plan in mind for a session may not serve my client as well as it could - unless I ask the body. My priority in a session, and even my client's priority in a session, may not be the body's (or their higher self's) priority. We have layers of health, we have layers of trauma. It's not up to me to decide what the first layer is to work with and release. Here's a short blog I wrote recently. https://lnkd.in/gFF6SAQs
