They offer a listening ear and wise counsel on navigating patient care with sustained compassion and empathy without running yourself into the ground. Through their guidance, you learn to protect your own well-being. Battling chronic Lyme can be a lonely road for both patients and doctors. Check out these "Guidelines for integrating digital tools into clinical care for young people at risk of suicide" by Orygen, co-authored by our own Research Coordinator, Alexandra Boland, in collaboration w/ a panel of young adults w/ lived expertise! “Many people have experienced psychological trauma, as children, as adults, or in connection with healthcare experiences. This means that sometimes recounting experiences or contributing to research as a patient and public involvement partner or talking with healthcare professionals, can be distressing and can trigger memories from the original experience.” FINALLY a paper about how patient engagement can cause harm.
