It’s B Corp Month! 🎉 With this being the first for Avery & Brown | B Corp™, the entire team came together over the past couple of weeks to put our heads together and create a strategy to get everyone involved in the celebrations. For my first task during #BCorpMonth, Tilly and I were tasked with completing B Lab UK’s ‘Behind the B’ training course for some personal development. This course is useful for anyone looking to learn a bit more about the B Corp movement and what it has set out to achieve. As we come to an end on B Corp Month, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic event we hosted last week. Here are some key insights I gathered: ✅ Businesses aspire to uphold ethical and sustainable standards but often lack clarity on initiating their ESG strategy. This is where the B Impact Assessment (BIA) comes into play! ✅ We need to refine how we communicate the essence of B Corp and the comprehensive sustainability standards it signifies. Sometimes, the B Corp logo doesn't convey its full significance to people. Breaking down the logo and its meaning into impact areas could enhance understanding. ✅ Engaging senior management in the importance of ESG initiatives can be challenging. To bridge this gap, we speak their language, present data supporting our ESG initiatives, and emphasize the efficiency gained by leveraging the (free) BIA tool rather than reinventing the wheel. ✅ Existing B Corps are enthusiastic about the movement and willingly offer mentorships or team sessions while sharing their experiences, both successes and challenges. ✅ Many businesses are doing really well in terms of sustainability, but don't have policies or says of working formalised. A B Leader can be a great support here. ✅ Each of us is responsible for supporting B Corps and raising awareness among end users. ✅ As B Leaders, we can leverage each other's expertise in impact areas and business operations to assist clients in their certification journey. Let's foster collaboration and extend support to emerging B Corps. ✅ Ireland stands out as one of the few countries offering grant support for B Corp certification. ✅ Lastly, as we have 38 current B Corps, compiling our data on team retention, revenue, consumer awareness, emissions, etc will be critical to support the movement. #bcorp #blabireland #bleader #bcorpeurope #bcorpcertified B Lab Ireland

Warren Partners started our journey towards B Corp certification last year. We are excited by the prospect of joining fellow purpose driven businesses in a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.    We are entering 'B Corp Month' having completed Evalution stage and are taking steps towards becoming B Corp certified. However, B Corp Certification isn’t a destination. It’s an invitation to join the journey to better business. B Corp Certification designates that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors ranging from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. In order to achieve certification, we are expected to:   ◼ Demonstrate high social and environmental performance ◼ Make a legal commitment to be accountable to all our stakeholders, not just shareholders ◼ Exhibit transparency by allowing information about our performance to be measured against B Lab’s standards and made publicly available   We look forward to updating you about our B Corp journey....watch this space! #bcorp #bcorpmonth #purposedrivenbusiness
