As I'm sure many of my followers have seen, I volunteer with Chapter One UK through Deloitte, spending 30 minutes reading online with the same child each week. I have the pleasure of reading with two wonderful children, and get so much from helping to transform their reading confidence and ability.    Today is World Book Day®, which is about getting more children, from all backgrounds, developing a life-long habit of reading for pleasure, benefitting from the improved life chances this brings them.     This #WorldBookDay, I want to show that there is no right or wrong way to enjoy reading, and that you can #ReadYourWay. For me, this is reading a book before bedtime, but if it's a really good book and I can't put it down, I might be seen carrying it around with me! November is Native American Heritage Month! It's a time to celebrate and honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of Native American communities. In the spirit of diversity and inclusivity, let's also recognize the importance of diversity in books. Representation matters, and giving students access to diverse books can have a profound impact on students' learning experiences. National nonprofit First Book conducted a groundbreaking study on the impact of a diverse classroom library. Did you know they found that increasing access to diverse books not only increases the amount of time children spend reading but also positively impacts their reading scores? As we previously shared, Readers 2 Leaders benefited from the collaborative literacy effort of First Book and the KPMG's Family for Literacy. KPMG gifted us a $25,000 voucher, and we purchased new inclusive books and distributed them to our partner campuses.
