🌍 Feeling inspired and energized after attending #Circularity 24 by GreenBiz Group in Chicago! Representing Threading Change along with Sophia Yang 杨雅程, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders and explore innovative solutions in the circular economy space. Key Takeaways: 🤝 Observations from Global Plastics Treaty (INC-4): Jo Banner, M.A. from The Descendants Project highlighted the sacrifice zones that exist in Louisiana, emphasizing that recycling is not a solution as it perpetuates these zones. The need for a robust scientific basis in treaty building was clear. 👗 Fashion Policy at Play: Meital Peleg Mizrachi discussed the lack of regulation due to limited knowledge among government representatives on the complexity of the issue and the exploitation of women and children in the industry. If men were equally exploited, the landscape would be vastly different. 📑 Lobbying in Fashion: One of the most astounding stats I heard – Rachel Van Metre Kibbe pointed out that Shein spends 78-80% of the total lobbying dollars of the fashion industry in the US, highlighting the influence of financial power in policy-making. ♻ Textile Recycling Solutions: Accelerating Circularity has recycled 27.5 tons of post-consumer cotton as feedstock, showcasing practical steps towards circularity. 🗣 Climate Comms: Molly Kawahata, during her keynote shared that using the public health angle to fight climate polarity is far more effective as tested during her time as a White House Climate advisor. Another highlight was meeting and spending time with some of the incredibly inspiring emerging leaders Fabiana Otero, Drexlar Attram, Sree Y., Celine Yang 杨诗林, Linton Taylor, Kyarah Barton, Snit Abrha, Anjali Malpani. These individuals are making strides and creating a sustainable future for us all. Thanks, Bryan Lewis for facilitating this program and letting me tag along on some of the activities. Special thanks to the Access Fund by (FES) Finance Engage Sustain | Financer Engager Soutenir for funding this trip to Chicago and making this experience possible. This trip was not just about knowledge but also about exposure, optimism, and re-energizing. Looking forward to applying these insights and fostering change! #Circularity24 #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #ThreadingChange #ClimateAction

One of the biggest challenges we face when switching to sustainable options is that, visually, they often look the same as non-sustainable products. The real difference? It’s in the impact—something we need to make more visible to truly drive change. 🌍 #Sustainability #ImpactMatters #EcoFriendlyFashion
Haydn & Rollett impact tracking since making the switch. When it comes to clothing, it isn't always obvious that you've chosen the more ethical or environmentally friendly option. In a world where transparency and accountability are key, demonstrating the tangible environmental benefits of sustainable purchases can be challenging. At LUCKE, we assist our clients in not only embracing sustainable clothing options but also in monitoring and showcasing the positive impact they are making for the planet. Sustainability shouldn't just be a buzzword—it should be quantifiable. Let's continue to advocate for real change! 🌱 #SustainableFashion #Transparency #ImpactMatters #Sustainability

Thought I’d share some of the great work we’ve done for TALA 👉 Meet TALA: They're not just any activewear brand; they're the pioneers of sustainable fashion, leading the way with their eco-conscious ethos. 🎯 What They Wanted: TALA had a game plan: ditch recycled mailers for good and make their packaging 100% plastic-free. Plus, they wanted something super easy for their customers to recycle at home. ♻️ 💡 How We Helped: Cue our partnership! Together, we dove into the nitty-gritty: we crunched numbers with a life cycle assessment to find the greenest, budget-friendly options. Spoiler alert: Compostable seemed like the best solution on the surface, we discovered it actually wasn't the most sustainable option 🌱 Their Solution: TALA went local and opted for FSC-certified paper mailer bags straight from the UK: - Less carbon footprint - New packaging comes from responsibly-managed sources 📊 The Payoff: With our new packaging, TALA slashed their carbon footprint by up to 49%! Plus, they've got the sustainability receipts to show off to customers and investors Ready to make the switch to more sustainable packaging? Drop me a message or leave a comment! 💪
