We are excited to be #InTheNews for our Record Sealing event in Fort Smith. Along with our partner, Chance for Change, we were able to host our first “Arkansas Reentry Integrated Support Expo.” The expo allowed us to help so many Arkansans with their record-sealing needs while also providing other opportunities from various vendors for Amnesty (misdemeanor warrants dropped and fines reset), Housing Assistance, Mental Health Services, Driver Control, Second Chance Job Fair, Adult Education Opportunities and Recovery Assistance. "It opens doors and opportunities. It helps you find employment. It helps you find housing. It tells you what your next steps are. It gives you the know-how to do those things that you are being required to do," Felicia Lyons, the founder and CEO of Chance for Change, said. "Because if you don't do those things, guess what? You go right back through that revolving door.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gTpsYt5R #ARlegal #Expungement #FreeLegalHelp #FreeLegalAid #SecondChance #RecordSealing #Arkansas #Arkansans #FREE #ARISEExpo #ReentrySupport #ArkansasReentry #IntegratedSupport #ReentryExpo #ARISE2024 #SupportingReentry #CommunityEngagement #SecondChances #EmpowerReentry #TransformingLives #ReentryResources #ArkansasCommunity #OpportunitiesAfterIncarceration #BuildingConnections #ARnews

*** TIME FOR A CAREER CHANGE? *** Working people looking to change career, upskill or retrain to secure their dream job are invited to attend the ‘Career Change’ event at Stockton-on-Tees Employment and Training Hub on March 27. This is the first time such an event has been held at the Hub, which is located at Wellington Square in Stockton. LinkedIn, in partnership with Enterprise Made Simple (EMS), will be providing a workshop where prospective new job hunters can find out how to sell themselves and build a professional profile on the social media platform. There will be one-to-one sessions where candidates will be educated on understanding their transferrable skills and how to use them to progress their career. And a photographer will also be on hand to take professional head shots free of charge. The event, which is running from 6pm – 8pm on the Wednesday evening, is expected to have up to 15 employers on site who are all looking to fill a wide range of roles. Anyone wishing to attend needs to book their place by visiting https://lnkd.in/dtfRMfpd Councillor Nigel Cooke, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, says the ‘Career Change’ event will provide a real boost to those people looking to kick-start their career. He said: “The Employment and Training Hub has already established a good history in helping people get into paid work, with 800 helped into employment since it opened in 2022. “But this event will help people already in work make the step up to reach their true potential and gain employment in a job they have always dreamed of doing. “The event will be more person-centred to avoid the usual hustle and bustle of a jobs fair, but there is still set to be representatives from the emergency services, local authority, construction and trade, and civil service to name just a few. “With numbers capped at around 100, I would advise anyone interested to get booked in as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.” #CareerChange #Employment #EmploymentandTraining #Jobs #StocktononTees #Teesside #NorthEast #LinkedIn

Exciting times ahead! 🎉 Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my niece and her best friend to the Slenky "Take Your Shot Zone" at Wembley Stadium, hosted by Brent Council. Kallure was in full force, showcasing 'Shots' (opportunities) for young talent. This event was a fantastic way for young people to explore their next steps, especially those uncertain about their future. For all the young individuals out there trying to secure their next opportunity, here are my top three tips: 1. Go for it, introduce yourself, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Networking is key. The more people you meet, the more opportunities you'll discover. Don’t hesitate to strike up conversations and ask about different paths and roles. 🗣 2. Write out what you want. Passion leads to purpose. Rather than focusing on the money, aim to gain practical experience. This will help you understand what you enjoy and shape your career direction. Volunteer, intern, or take up small projects to build your skills. 📒 3. Set realistic goals. For instance, commit to applying for at least 2 jobs a day. Small, consistent steps can lead to significant progress over time. 🚦 Remember, every step you take is a step towards your future. Stay curious, be proactive, and keep pushing forward. 🚀 Thank you to Slenky for giving Kallure the opportunity to be part of this! With UK Black Comms Network recent One Step Forward, Two Steps Black report showing that over two-thirds (68%) of Black and Mixed-Black communications professionals have considered leaving the PR industry. It reaffirms just how important it is for us to be present in spaces like the TYS Zone. It provides insight into the communications world while allowing more young black girls access to information that will help them enter a career in the PR industry. 💜 #TakeYourShot #YouthOpportunities #CareerAdvice #Kallure #WembleyStadium #BrentCouncil

We're pleased to announce that Slenky will be supporting this year's Wembley Job Fair Event at Wembley Stadium this July, piloting an immersive and interactive employer engagement zone - the 'Take Your Shot' Zone (TYS Zone). If you've ever attended a job fair and thought, "These events need to change," or wondered what a 'digitally' upgraded event might look like, the TYS Zone is for you. The TYS Zone is a game-changing digital experience transforming the way businesses and job seekers connect. Instead of traditional pop-up banners and paper handouts, attendees will use their mobiles to discover brands and businesses. They'll interact with employers in real-time, applying for Shots (opportunities) and engaging in a dynamic and impactful way. Plus, they'll be able to save employer information to view and apply for Shots later, and share these employers with others in their social networks. Why is this needed? Because we no longer go online, we are online. The way we connect, engage, and discover opportunities has fundamentally changed, and it's time that job fairs evolved to reflect modern lifestyles too. The TYS Zone is our response to this shift, creating a more engaging and effective experience for both businesses and job seekers. A big thank you goes to Brent Council for recognising the importance of evolving job fairs and committing to adopting digital technology to help modern and diverse audiences engage with businesses. Interested in learning more? Visit this link: https://lnkd.in/e2Wn9j49 If your business would like to take part in the TYS Zone, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch and let's make this job fair one to remember. #TakeYourShot #WembleyJobFair #DigitalEngagement #CareerOpportunities #FutureOfWork #Slenky

Okay, so Dyson job fair update. End of day one. We have a venue in Bristol now booked in for the 5th August. It will be during the day. Now capacity is 300. What we need: - employers with jobs that are signed off, good to go. You are in a position to hire, not some speculative 'talent pooling' endeavour You will get an opportunity to speak, to meet, to make connection with hundreds of individuals. For brand positioning, tangibility of getting in front of the people you want to, for some strategic talent attraction and acquisition it is a super unique opportunity. We have some world-class videography that you can call upon as part of that content piece. This is not just aimed at local businesses. ex-Dyson alumni are up and down the country. We also want some alternative speakers - whether that be Kickstarter, people that have started their own design agency/product business - ultimately that will be part of the thinking for many that are in this redundancy process. What are those alternative career paths for individuals who maybe now see this as an opportunity to explore. To make this happen, and to ideally make this free for those attending, we are going to need high levels of sponsorship to facilitate something of this scale. I can't sit back, watch 1000 people be made redundant and just do nothing. Hopefully you feel the same. hello@designtruth.co.uk Let's see where we are at by the end of the week / Design Truth. _ #industrialdesign #designtruth
