In a post-COVID world, many candidates have transitioned to seeking remote work opportunities. Our firm utilizes digital communication tools to stay connected. Even still, the importance of in-person interactions cannot be overstated. Most of our team works from home, with only a few reporting to our headquarters in Anna or the Bryan office. Regardless, it is true that maintaining a strong sense of connectedness is critical to thrive as a team. This is why in-person interactions remain critical for our success. That's why we host quarterly culture meetings. These gatherings allow us to physically come together, discuss our business, address our strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies for improvement. Being in the same room fosters a sense of unity and helps us refine our processes, ensuring we work more effectively as a team. These touchpoints are vital, especially since our day-to-day interactions are predominantly virtual. We also recognize the efforts of our CARE team in keeping everyone engaged and supported. They ensure our remote employees feel connected, appreciated, and trusted. By prioritizing the needs of our team and incorporating flexibility into their workday, we’ve created an environment where everyone feels valued. We encourage our clients to foster the same culture to increase employee retention and attract culture-aligned candidates. Balancing regular virtual communication with periodic in-person meetings helps us maintain a strong, cohesive team, no matter where we are working from. #hiring #recruiting #jobplacement #careeropportunities #humanresources #staffingfirm #crossresourcegroup

Trusted talent recruitment partner for companies in the Healthcare & Manufacturing sectors | C-suite to Entry-level | Sales & Marketing | Finance & Accounting | Operations | Need help hiring? Let's talk.
Deciding on remote vs. In-office needs... An intriguing hiring trend I’m observing in the medical sales industry is competing companies mandating opposite work policies for very similar roles. Imposing full-time, on-site presence while another offers complete work location flexibility. This prompts a discussion around factors hiring leaders should weigh beyond mere executive preference: - Critical in-person touch points necessary? Does on-site truly heighten productivity? - What continuity risks arise abandoning the office? Can hybrid models split the difference? - How will talent shortages, workplace demand shifts and candidate lifestyle priorities flux? Additionally, mandating on-site when not 100% necessary shrinks candidate pools limiting recruiting. Assessing remote appropriateness warrants layered priority analysis - culture, operations, and bottom line over pure cost play. There are no blanket answers, but food for thought.

Believe it's just a matter of time before the appetite for hybrid and remote working styles diminishes? Quite the contrary - research shows workplaces are becoming more flexible. Flexa Careers revealed their recent stats, between April and June, we've seen a jump of 15% in remote job requests. Their data could seem slightly subjective given their expertise, but it's eye-opening to learn that 88% of workers worldwide prefer an arrangement that allows them to work from any location. In my capacity as a recruiter for Benskin & Hott Talent Partners, numbers aren't my main focus. Yet, one can't ignore the growing popularity of remote work. Having worked extensively with job seekers, I've noticed a distinct shift in priorities - remote work is becoming a significant factor for many. However, don't get misled believing it’s the only golden ticket. One cannot operate on rigidity while trying to attract the best talent. Yes, a company's remote work policy is becoming increasingly important, but it's a single piece of a much larger puzzle.

I always tell my kids I have no favorites. But companies sure seem to. In-person employees. If you’re a company that allows employees to be remote BUT you “punish” them by not paying equally You dont offer the same career paths You don’t promote remote employees at the same rate as in-office employees You’re creating a toxic and competitive culture. And not the good kind of competition. Why would you want to pit remote and hybrid/in-person employees against each other? If you allow choice, why are you punishing people for their choices you’re allowing them to make? If work is getting done, and WFH employees are bringing value, WHY aren’t they treated in the same exact way as their office peers? If you offer employees a choice, they should be treated equally. I appreciate the flexibility of WFH and hybrid. And in return my company gets a dedicated employee that cares about doing what it takes. Show your employees that care in return by treating ALL employees as equals. Be a good human. Lead well. #wfh #remotework #workingmom

🌟 Office Based vs. WFH 🌟 In the age of remote work, many industries have embraced flexibility. As I write this, I am at home taking the opportunity to work from home, accompanied by my favourite colleague (picture evidence below). 🐩 But it's important to see the value of spending time in the office, especially in certain fields. For example, the recruitment industry, especially agency recruitment, really benefits from a face-to-face environment. This setup offers unique perks for both recruiters and clients: 🚀 Fast-Tracked Career Growth: The office is a great place for learning and development. Junior recruiters get quick mentorship and feedback, and everyone benefits from the team’s shared expertise and experiences. 🎯 Better client relationships: Meeting face-to-face builds trust and rapport faster. Clients love the personal touch and dedication that come with in-person interactions, making it easier to understand their needs and find the right hires. 🔗 Better team collaboration: Being together in one place improves communication and teamwork. Instant brainstorming, problem-solving, and shared energy result in more innovative and effective recruitment strategies. 🌐 Improved company culture: Being there in person helps keep company culture strong and thriving. From team-building activities to casual chats, fostering a sense of togetherness adds to a positive workplace environment. 💡 Immediate access to resources: In an office setting, you have immediate access to all the tools, technology, and support systems. This means less downtime and more efficient processes, making the recruitment experience smoother for both clients and candidates. 🤝 Better work-life separation: A physical office helps to separate work from personal life more clearly, which can lead to a healthier work-life balance and boost productivity and well-being. While remote work definitely has its perks, and I do enjoy the flexibility when I need it, the agency recruitment sector really benefits from the energy and instant connections you get in an office setting 😊. An unexpected 32% of hybrid workers state they would consider a pay cut to work remotely full-time, according to a Forbes Advisor survey. With the rising number of in-person staff transitioning to remote work, how can we better manage our teams virtually? Here are 5 best practices for remote HR management that I've learned through over a decade of experience in HR: 1️⃣ PRIORITIZE EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING Remote work has its unique challenges on your team because of the potential for blurred lines between work and personal life. These challenges could take a toll on their mental health and can then lead to burnout. - Do regular check-ins - Provide readily available resources for managing digital stress - Encourage breaks - And promote work-life balance. It will empower your team to thrive, both professionally and personally. 2️⃣ MASTER ASYNCHRONOUS COMMUNICATION Use project management platforms and video conferencing solutions. For us at Phoenix Virtual Solutions, Google Meet and Ring Central are our tools of choice. Through this approach, we make sure everyone's voice is heard, regardless of their personal schedules! 3️⃣ FOCUS ON OUTCOMES OVER WORKED HOURS Manage your team’s performance through data analytics. - It helps us identify strengths - Address gaps - And personalize development plans for each employee to optimize their performance and reveal their full potential. For my team at PVS, we use Time Doctor. Some may disagree with me, but it has increased not only our team's PRODUCTIVITY level but also provided ACCOUNTABILITY. 4️⃣ BUILD A CULTURE OF CONNECTION Physical distance doesn't have to equate to emotional disconnect. We at PVS actively promote a culture of connection through: - Team-building activities - Celebrating milestones together (both through scheduled in-person and remotely) - And recognize achievements across borders. This dedication to building trust and a sense of belonging strengthens our team spirit and fuels success. 5️⃣ A HIGHER LEVEL OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) It means providing fair hiring and benefits across locations, building an inclusive online space through mindful communication, and actively combating bias in remote tools and interactions. To create a thriving, competitive organization, you must adopt remote talents, cultivate a sense of belonging, and prioritize accessibility. Try it with your remote team and let me know how it goes. #RemoteHR #BPO #Leadership #EmployeeWellbeing #PerformanceManagement
