捐贈物資:https://www.goodcity.hk/ 接收物資:https://lnkd.in/e7jPA49 A special thank you to our community volunteers and social worker partners from the HKLSS Community Liaison Team in Hung Shui Kiu New Development Area! Over the years, they have been so gracious in welcoming us into their communities and without partnerships like these, much of what we do would not be possible. From coming to our site to volunteer, to helping at distribution events, we are so grateful to walk alongside these catalysts of change, working together to make our world a better place. If the government and institutions don’t learn that THIS new generation of young people are here to change the world, there will severe socioeconomic repercussions that will damage the UK. They are not driven by money and power like the past generations. They WILL make a difference whether you like it or not. We, the older and the elderly, need to wake up and smell the coffee. The old ways of running society and a country have been found wanting. The smarter ones from us will realise that we need to create the space for the young to lead…and just get out of their way. #youngleaders #leadership #youthleaders #britisheconomy
Hear Aliesha talk about the importance of truly listening to young people when making decisions about them. An important message for all political parties as they finalise their manifestos on issues like #NationalService and #VotesAt16 Aliesha was speaking at the UK House of Lords as part of Speakers Trust's #MyMaidenSpeech, a unique programme giving young people the confidence, skills and opportunity to share their perspectives on issues that are important to them. Aliesha was highlighting the great work done in her local area by Young Ealing Foundation who equip grassroots youth charities, supporters and decision makers, to open up a brighter future for Ealing’s children and young people. #NationalService #VotesAt16

The fourth annual report, jointly produced by VSGWL and West Lothian Council, has been published today! This report provides an overview of how the sector, West Lothian Council, and other Community Planning Partners collaborate to deliver essential support to local communities. 🌟 Alan McCloskey, CEO of VSGWL, shared: "The report captures the vital role and essential services provided by charities, social enterprises, and community groups across West Lothian, as well as the incredible role played by volunteers. This is all set against the backdrop of the ongoing cost of living crisis. Of particular note and concern is the 19% drop in income experienced by the sector from the previous year, while costs have remained constant and demands on services have increased. The report highlights the size and scale of the third sector both locally and nationally, along with case studies that pay testimony to the amazing difference small grassroots organisations are making to help those in most need." 📄 You can view the full report on our website : https://lnkd.in/eJuiEgc5 #CommunitySupport #ThirdSector #AnnualReport #WestLothian #VSGWL

🌳 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐖𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🌳 When our community comes together with a shared goal, there's nothing we can't achieve. But I've noticed that some of our neighbours aren't yet familiar with CAN – 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐤𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐤. Founded by three devoted Durbanvillains, CAN is dedicated to keeping our public spaces—pavements, traffic circles, and islands—beautiful and well-maintained. For too long, these three individuals have generously carried 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝟒𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 , with the help of a few generous donors, but unfortunately this has dwindled. Now, they need our help to keep this going. This isn’t about a one-time donation— 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. That's why we're asking everyone to commit to a small, recurring contribution via a bank stop order. Whatever amount you can afford will make a difference! The important thing is commitment—let’s share the responsibility and ensure our community remains beautiful month after month. Are you freeat 10am for an hour tomorrow morning? If so, why not join me as my guest for our April UK for Good monthly online forum? Our gatherings are a place for forward-thinking people to explore ways we can better understand and improve our impact. It's a place to learn from and connect with like minded folk who recognise the need for businesses to step up and shape a better future. I'm extending the invitation to you as we're keen to raise awareness of this brilliant organisation that tackles landfill waste and community engagement through one simple app. If that's piqued your interest here's a little more about our experts A Good Thing (UK): "The idea was simple: businesses are generating too much waste, while many charities are in need of more resources. What if we could connect the two? That’s why we created A Good Thing." Sounds brilliantly simple and beautifully impactful doesn't it. That's because it is. Join me as my guest to learn more about the growing UK for Good Community and listen to Anna Rose Bowler ACIM about the work they are doing and how your business can get involved. Please email me hello@ukforgood.com if you'd like to join us. #charity #communityEngagement #WasteReduction #BetterBusiness #BCorp

A recent report from The Centre for Social Justice highlights that "76% of people say that local groups know their communities better than larger, national, charities" We couldn't agree more: > Community groups intimately understand the most immediate needs of folks in your area. > They’ve already built trust with community members. > They respond quickly in the event of crises. > And they can get a whole lot done on shoestring budgets. When setting up your next charity partnerships, think grassroots. Use ActionFunder's explore tool to find local community groups: https://lnkd.in/e8HUBm2S
