We are THRILLED to share that DCAC's Forensic Services was named the Nonprofit Team of the Year by D CEO. We are endlessly proud of this team and the pivotal part they play in each child's journey towards healing and hope when they come to the Center. Each day, this team stands with children as they recount their experiences of abuse to show them that they are not alone and that justice is possible.
Congratulations, DCAC Forensic Services team, you deserve it!

If you are interested in helping Starr King educate the next generation of Unitarian Universalist and multi-religious leaders, the simplest, most flexible, and most versatile way to ensure we can continue our work for years to come is a gift in your will or living trust, known as a charitable bequest.
To include Starr King in your will or living trust, download our PDF of sample bequest language and customize it to your wishes. You can then provide this language to your attorney for inclusion in your will or living trust. Learn more at sksm.edu/legacy. Did you know that legacy gifts count towards Starr King’s Sowing Seeds Campaign goal of $9 million? You can help us reach that goal with a bequest. #SKSMLegacy

The Chronicle of Philanthropy reports: "In a potentially widespread error, the Internal Revenue Service has apparently transmitted tax return data for nonprofits that misreports organizations' finances for 2022 -- a glitch that could pose a barrier for charities seeking to secure donations or government grants."
As we all know, these listings are relied upon by donors and other investors to assess a nonprofit's financial health before making a grant or gift.
At this point, it's not clear how many non-profits are affected but it may be worth checking your organization's listing on Candid and ProPublica for errors. Candid appears to be working quickly to correct errors.

California’s California Department of Health Care Services recent investment to help people with substance use disorders (SUD) is a great example of state innovation in this area. To learn how states can use public funds to support evidence-based SUD treatment — including MOUD and MAT — check out this CHCS/The Pew Charitable Trusts report outlining 10 financing principles to guide states in strengthening robust #SUD treatment and recovery services. https://bit.ly/46dlgYu
DHCS awarded more than $10 million to 25 DHCS-licensed nonprofit, residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities throughout the state.
This funding continues California's support of community organizations on the ground, doing the day-to-day work of caring for and supporting people struggling with SUDs.

I NEED YOUR HELP! Do you want to help survivors of S*xual Assault?
We are doing a fundraiser for @tendingthegarden.4.sas
If you are unaware of what@ttg is, it is my non-profit
.
“Founded in 2019 by Jimanekia Eborn, Tending the Garden grew from an idea to an organization rooted in social justice, equity, and compassionate care. In totality, Tending the Garden is for marginalized survivors who are looking for community, healing, education, and growth. We strive to provide this community through retreats, workshops, live events, and resources.
Our programming is created to serve underserved individuals who deserve to feel seen, supported, and heard in an environment where they will be respected and not re-traumatized.”
I say all that to say I need YOUR HELP! We are doing a fundraiser where you do not have to spend money!! We just need you to answer a few questions and survey products you already use.
Each short survey you complete can earn us $1.60 in donations.
They take around 60 seconds
You can complete up to 75

This year’s goal is to build out our community component and structure.
