Repost from @usfleetforcescommand • Winning every day. That’s what the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) does because the U.S. Navy is manned by the most capable Sailors who have ever served. The Navy allows its Sailors to make a critical impact, an opportunity unrivaled in the civilian world. Whether leading teams of their peers or overseeing multimillion-dollar equipment, Sailors’ experiences contribute to something bigger than themselves. Since our nation’s founding, through peace, war, and every challenge in between, the U.S. Navy has stood the watch to protect America’s economic vitality, sustain our nation’s influence, support our allies and partners, deter conflict, and when called upon, defend our freedom through combat. These shots of flight operations were taken ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday as the #MightyIke was underway on a regularly-scheduled deployment, because there’s no substitute for presence. On Nov. 26, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group completed a scheduled transit through the Strait of Hormuz into the Arabian Gulf. “The Mighty IKE brings unmatched capabilities wherever it goes,” said Capt. Christopher Hill, commanding officer of IKE, flagship of the strike group. “We place ourselves where our nation’s leaders need us to be and on time, in order to meet the full range of maritime security requirements of the mission at hand.” #usnavy #ussdwightdeisenhower #aircraftcarrier #warship #fighterjet #atlanticfleet #aviation #avgeek #navy #armedforces #usmilitary #cvn69 #navyjobs #pilotlife #flightdeck

US Marine Corps is providing Australian Army with a great example of how military capability can be augmented with intelligent industry partnerships. Trusting that a similar option is being considered to accelerate the #LittoralManoeuvre capability. Well done Sea Transport 👏 👏 #IndustryPartnership #LittoralOperations #IntegratedOperations
The US Marine Corps has signed a lease for a 73m stern landing vessel (SLV) from Queensland ship designer Sea Transport. The 3-year lease will enable the Marines to assess, evaluate and experiment with the SLV in support of its Force Design objectives and inform future amphibious and littoral manoeuvre requirements and concepts of operations, including that for the huge Landing Ship Medium program. Currently in the final stages of construction, the SLV itself will possess a 550-tonne payload and 4,000nm range. The vessel will be handed over to the Marines in January 2025, whereupon it will commence activities in and around northern Australia and the near region. A nice win for 100% Australian-owned Sea Transport. Will be awesome seeing the SLV out and about with the USMC. #usmc #usmarines #usarmy #adf #defence #defense #defenceindustry #indopacific #amphibious #littoralmanoeuvre #shipbuilding #naval #usnavy #landingcraft #darwin #aukus SEATRANSPORT PTY LTD United States Marine Corps US Army US Navy Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory I Futures Directorate Australian Army Royal Australian Navy Defence Australia Royal Navy Royal Marines Pat Conroy Richard Marles

Gen. Curtis LeMay famously stated, "We go to war with the army we have." But Col. Purcell's insight, "We go to war twice a year," takes this a step further. It underscores the constant need to evolve our military capabilities. The V-22 Osprey embodies this philosophy. It's not just about replicating existing missions; it's about unlocking entirely new possibilities. The V-22 is a testament to our commitment to staying ahead of the curve. It's not just about winning the fights we have today, but being prepared for the unforeseen challenges of tomorrow. #V22Osprey #MilitaryInnovation #NationalSecurity

Thirty-three years ago - toward what would end up being the end of Operation Desert Storm - the ordinance crew from Attack Squadron Three-Five (VA-35) loaded 22 Mk-82 500lb (230 kg) unguided, low drag general purpose bombs onto our squadron's A-6E Intruder. During the Persian Gulf War it is estimated that 4,500 GBU-12/Mk-82 were dropped onto Iraqi forces - all loaded by the strong backs of sailors and airmen. From the pictures below the task of uploading 22 500 pound bombs on a single aircraft is hard, back breaking labor. The burden of loading these weapons onto a four aircraft division only added to the daily stress and fatigue for the crew who worked tirelessly for more than 6 months. That's more than 45,000 lbs (22 tons) of ordnance - not to mention the time it took to prepare the weapons for safe release. The dedication and commitment by our Navy sailors never wavered - true unsung heroes of VA-35 and Navy Squadrons deployed in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. As a young naval officer, division officer, and squadron pilot I watched them toil, without complaint, instead joking and chiding each other to do more despite their exhaustion. On this given day I decided to help decrease their burden loading those weapons - just one sailor helping another - silently - without hesitation. Regardless of rank - are you willing to roll up your sleeves - and help those who never ask for help? Are you uninhibited by hierarchy? #navy, #navalaviation, #leadership, #usnavy, #innovation, #usna, #calledtoserve

🇨🇦🛳️ Irving Shipbuilding has begun construction of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Surface Combatants in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The development is part of Ottawa’s objective to produce 15 modern warships based on BAE Systems’ Type 26 City-class ship design and replace the navy‘s existing Halifax-class frigates and Iroquois-class guided missile destroyers. Irving said the construction phase will start on the CSC’s production test module, which will enable the company and the government to evaluate, streamline, and implement processes to full-rate production in 2025.
