EC Clears €1bn Dutch State Aid for Green Hydrogen The European Commission (EC) has approved a €998 million (USD 1.08bn) Dutch scheme to support the production of renewable hydrogen. Additionally, €80 million in state aid has been granted to the Djewels demonstration project, which focuses on innovative green hydrogen production technology. This funding aims to facilitate the development of at least 200 MW of electrolysis capacity in the Netherlands, contributing to the country's goal of having 500 MW of electrolysers installed by 2025. Financial support will be distributed through an auction set to take place in 2024, with projects requiring a minimum capacity of 0.5 MW to be eligible. The Commission's review concluded that the scheme is necessary and appropriate to promote the production of renewable hydrogen, providing a significant incentive for development. The support will be delivered as a direct grant, covering up to 80% of the investment costs upfront, along with a variable premium over a period of five to ten years. Recipients must comply with EU standards for the production of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs). Great to see this level of investment in the green hydrogen space! #GreenHydrogen #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #EUFunding #HydrogenEconomy #Innovation #Netherlands #CleanEnergy #ClimateAction #RenewableFuels

Shaping the future of e-Fuel production ⚡ Positioned at the forefront of renewable energy, Chile’s vast wind and solar potentials have made it a global hub for sustainable fuel initiatives. Building on these preconditions, INERATEC has successfully identified ten potential sites, spanning up to 170 hectares in collaboration with local partners from AHK Chile and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH. ⛽ To sustainably exploit the optimal conditions in Chile, INERATEC has engineered its next-scale Power-to-Liquid plant. It will produce up to 50,000 tons of e-Fuel every year. This will pave the way for the global expansion of #eFuel production capacities, enabling us to defossilize the hard-to-abate sectors. 💡 Those efforts were a key activity within the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz). The program supports projects and markets for green hydrogen in selected developing and emerging countries as part of the National Hydrogen Strategy. 👀 Watch the video to get an in-depth look at the next-scale unit that will mark the beginning of the #NextEra of mobility.

International Power to X workshop - 12 May 2024 - Ahoy Rotterdam Converting green electricity from renewable sources into storable energy carriers such as hydrogen, ammonia or dimethyl ether is a practical solution with several key advantages: these Power-to-X energy carriers guarantee energy security independent of the volatility of sustainable energy production; they can be transported over long distances; and they are suitable for defossilizing sectors that can currently be electrified only to a limited extent or not at all. The mobility sector (shipping and aviation), the industrial sector (steel and cement production) and the chemical industry will remain dependent on green energy sources and chemicals in the medium term. The content of the workshop will be jointly developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO with the support of the Port of Rotterdam. By attending the workshop, you will receive a discount of more than 30% on the ticket price for the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition. Registration https://lnkd.in/eRzavDDq #ptxworkshop

👌In the ARENHA project, the goal is to prove that ammonia possesses the essential qualities to serve as an efficient and cost-effective energy storage medium without CO2 emissions☑️☑️. This is only feasible if the production and decomposition of ammonia are closely linked to renewable energy generation. This is how ammonia production is handled in the ARENHA project, aiming for maximum sustainability in the process➡️ https://lnkd.in/dfB3aMgb And this is the formula for the ammonia decomposition process with which the ARENHA will demonstrate its potential as a sustainable hydrogen storage source👉 https://lnkd.in/d6TUXqTd 💻https://lnkd.in/dmQxB6tD #ARENHA #ammonia #greenammonia #useofammonia TECNALIA Research & Innovation Eindhoven University of Technology CNH2 - Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno DTU - Technical University of Denmark Fraunhofer IKTS STFC Proton Ventures Elcogen H2SITE Stellantis ENGIE Université d'Orléans

A breakthrough with hydrogen PV that's 1000 times more powerful than anticipated normal PV which developed by the University of Leuven in Belgium under the Solhyd project, this innovative technology produces hydrogen directly from sunlight and moisture in the air. The concept has attracted significant public and investor interest, positioning Solhyd as a potential game-changer in renewable energy. Unlike traditional PV or electrolyzers, the Solhyd hydrogen PV combines a regular PV with a special layer that generates hydrogen. It captures water vapor from the air, particularly in humid conditions, and uses this to produce hydrogen efficiently. This has the potential to be a market of significant size.
