Electric Cars is still as an alternative. Is it true? As of now, most of Indonesian people's think that an electric cars is still becoming the second or third options after after conventional cars. This is reflected in the results of a PricewaterhouseCoopers or PwC survey entitled "Indonesia Electric Vehicle Consumer Survey 2023". In this report, 72% of respondents stated that electric cars were seen as a backup vehicle for them. It means that EVs are not yet relied on as the main mode of daily transportation by the majority of respondents. The survey, which was held in the Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, Bogor, Depok, Semarang, Surabaya and Medan, revealed the public's view that respondents were considering the next 3-5 years to buy an electric car. Meanwhile, respondents' doubts about electric cars were reflected in the 45% of respondents who answered that they would buy one at some point in the future and it was still far from their imagination. Reflecting on car sales data from Gaikindo and PwC survey results, it seems that the target of 2 million EV units by 2030 is still too high to be realized. Moreover, if this plan is not accompanied by a serious policy to reduce the use of fuel-powered cars and strive for the production of affordable electric cars for all levels of society. As we now that 75% of cars sold in Indonesia are below IDR 250 million. While until now, electric cars are generally priced from IDR 200 million to more than IDR 1 billion. If EVs want to compete with conventional cars, the manufacturer have to produce an electric car that is sold in the low-cost green car (LCGC) price range of less than IDR 200-250 million. If this is not realized, the user groups that can access electric cars will only be limited to high-income buyers. Public transport plays a key role in providing basic, affordable mobility to people who have no access to individual transport modes. Rail is one of the green modes of transport and is fundamental for decarbonising the transport sector. There are many types of railway transport system. In some countries we can find tram, light rail & metro system, monorail, suburban or commuter line, till high speed train. Each mode has its own characteristic: top speed, passenger capacity, distance, headway, and of course the power supply. There are AC traction and DC traction power supply application. The AC traction is usually for higher speed and longer distance like highspeed train. It uses 15kV 16.7Hz or 25kV 50/60Hz line. The DC traction uses 750V, 1500V or 3000V line. I am happy to share that the ICCT has published the TCO analysis for Transjakarta at route level. Key findings include the significantly higher efficiency of e-buses compared to diesel buses, the feasibility of operating certain routes with specific e-bus configurations, and the potential cost competitiveness of e-buses with extended contract durations. This is condition urban transportation in Jakarta and surround city if we go to the work and back home by electric commuter train. Need more public transportation like this as priority in big cities to save energy

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗥𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. The government of Indonesia has launched a new LRT (Light Rail Transit) to enhance Jakarta’s public transportation and to reduce traffic congestion in the capital city. The 44km LRT train system, built by state-owned listed construction company Adhi Karya, cost about Rp33tr or US$2.1bn. While the existing MRT serves up to 80,000 commuters, the LRT Is targeting a larger 180,000 passengers per day. The driverless LRT trains charge a flat rate of Rp5,000 (US$0.33), but will raise ticket prices up to a maximum of Rp20,000 (US$1.30) by end-2023 or 1Q 2024 to encourage more commuters to use public transportation, instead of motorcycles and cars.

Exciting news from Charge+! The Largest EV Charging Cluster in Iskandar Puteri, Johor is now at Teega development at Puteri Harbour! We are honoured to have Teega Chairman Mr. Sukhjeet Singh, Secretary Mr. Jeff Saw, and Building Manager Mr. David Lim, join forces with our CEO, Mr. Goh Chee Kiong, to commemorate another significant milestone for Charge+.   With a total of 10 EV charging bays, including 2 DC charging points, in this charging hub, we aim to provide convenience for residents and visitors alike, including EV drivers from neighboring Singapore. Travelling cross border has never been more effortless! Charge+ has also unveiled its charging station roadmap for Johor, with the goal of investing in 800 EV charging points just in Johor by 2030.
