💡 💡 Once I was introduced to Clifton Strength it made all the difference. It radically transformed my approach to how one leads and invest in people development. It provided valuable insights into my own strengths as well. The idea that we should focus on what is right with people as opposed to obsessing about what is wrong makes imminent sense. It is about: 1. Recognizing the worth and dignity of every person. 2. Leaning into people’s strength is empowering and validating. 3. Motivating others to be their best selves 4. Creating a healthy culture in our organization. 5. Recognizing that we each have gifts and talents to be harnessed. 6. Strong organizations work to bring together the combined strengths of team members to reach new heights.
The global strengths movement started decades ago when Don Clifton, Father of Strengths Psychology and Legendary Inventor of #CliftonStrengths, posed the question, “What would happen if we studied what was right with people versus what’s wrong with people?” He believed that the most effective way to empower people was to see each person in terms of their strengths. Today, on what would have been his 100th birthday, we celebrate Don and his contributions toward helping individuals and teams around the world unlock their potential.
Hear hear! The Clifton Strengths framework has been a game changer for our students, interns, and staff around the world — empowering everyone to grow, validate, and contribute in unique ways.
I felt so validated after taking the StrengthsFinder test. People would tease me as a "professional student" because I love taking courses and ended up with three degrees. My test results showed that being a "learner" is a talent. I had never thought of it that way. Now, I'm super proud of the fact that I get energized by learning new concepts and can see it as an advantage professionally.
I love this SO MUCH!! This is why I became a Strengths coach and make it my mission to help students, especially international and historically underserved students understand and leverage all that they bring to every table. It is essential to success and happiness and I so appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for sharing Dr. Fanta Aw!!
I agree this is a terrific approach; leaning into what is easy and natural is always a win. Being a manager who supports the strengths, and understands how to present opportunities to use them, is essential. Here's to all the Clifton Coaches out there!
Building on strengths is so important!!
Clifton Strengths is indeed a fabulous tool!!! We are all different, and we all have something to offer.
