Many people talk about environmental factors in production, transport, development and much more. It is of course important that we consider these factors. But in my opinion it is also important to talk about durability in these times. Do you buy cheap/poor quality to throw away after a short time? Do you primarily buy things because of the current fashion and then buy new ones when the fashion changes and the product is no longer fashionable? or do you choose the classic design and the good quality so that it can last for a lifetime? https://lnkd.in/djPhaTu9

Netherlands is practicing the goals of the EU Cycling declaration which asks for inklusive and non discriminatory access to cycling. But still the Netherlands are not spearheading the move to a better legislative framework which would allow to make better products which will allow inklusive pedelecs and pedelecs for senior citizens. Companies like VanRaam and Huka are hindered by the current legal frameworks to make the best products as they would be technically possible. National cycling strategies have gained popularity in Europe, however, they are not yet mainstream. In 2023 four more European countries were added to the list of countries with a national cycling strategy: Belarus, Croatia, Hungary and Israel. Three more countries have adopted policies similar to a national cycling strategy: Ireland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. #cycling #bikes #bicycling #cyclingandbikes
