Delighted to have moderated a panel session on "Promoting Electric Mobility in the MENA Region" at the Middle East Rail & Mobility Live 2024 event in Abu Dhabi. Our panelists discussed key EV market trends in the region, challenges hindering widespread adoption, and the crucial role of policy and regulation. A highlight was Peec Mobility, a UAE-based start up and a UICCA partner, showcasing their innovative approach to repurposing vehicles from petrol to electric, offering significant environmental and economic benefits. At the #ParisAirForum yesterday, I had the opportunity to share my convictions to collectively unleash all our energies in order to accelerate on the decarbonization of the aviation & airport industry:  1. Clear regulation is the absolute first requirement. 2. Private investments: Governments should incentivize private investment to decarbonize, and not tax such activities 3. We need to have shared objectives, at a global level, to support industrials to organize this transition. VINCI Airports, operating +70 airports worldwide, is on the right track to achieve net zero direct carbon emissions (scopes 1&2) by 2030 on all airports we operate in the EU and at London Gatwick, and in the rest of the world by 2050. In addition to acting on our own perimeter, we provide sustainable solutions for our stakeholders with for instance: landing fees modulations based on carbon emissions, SAF (sustainable aviation fuels) already available in 7 airports we operate, EV charging in the parking lots, electrification of aircrafts stands, solar farms to provide green energy to tenants and territories, and nature based solutions to remove residual emissions. We also invest for tomorrow’s solutions such as green hydrogen. It will be soon a reality at Aéroports de Lyon, with a first gaseous hydrogen station for light vehicles at the end of 2024, followed by production and distribution stations for gaseous hydrogen for ramp vehicles and heavy mobility in 2026, and at a later stage between 2035 and 2040, liquid hydrogen for aircrafts, with industrial partners such as Airbus. With whom we have recently partnered on the GOLIAT - Horizon Europe project: an aviation hydrogen handling and refueling project co-funded by the European Union. Reconciling mobility and environment is possible. Let’s keep committed to act, collectively and faster, with a proactive and pioneering approach.

#Decarbonisation, a vision focused on sustainable development and a strong drive towards #innovation are the core themes discussed at ENAV's #SustainabilityDay by our CEO Marco Troncone, who highlighted the importance of combining environmental responsibility with strategic development to build the future of airports. “The keyword is sustainable development, which goes beyond the concept of environmental sustainability per se and necessarily couples it with economic and social sustainability,” Troncone explained. “In this logic, the latest responses emerging from the Patto Decarbonizzazione Trasporto Aereo are very encouraging as they establish the industrial feasibility of achieving the objective of 6% of SAF by 2030, thanks to the contribution of the national champions involved - in this case Eni.” Our CEO also shed light on the main milestones we achieved (including ACA’s Level 4+ certification in 2021) and the groundbreaking initiatives that we are implementing, such as #Fiumicino airport’s #SolarFarm & the #PIONEER project in partnership with Enel X, explaining how such actions are setting the stage for the #NetZero30 goal.  “The sector is responding in a credible and concrete way to the challenging expectations that the transition imposes,” he concluded. #BeyondFlying #TheCareport

Exciting news for e-Mobility in Morocco! 🚗🔋 Iskraemeco has partnered with OKSA to launch its first EV charging solution in Morocco, marking a significant step towards sustainable transportation. This pilot project includes installing five chargers, with plans to expand to 20 AC and DC chargers by the end of 2024, targeting hotels and shopping malls across the country.
