Would the Super Bowl ever be held in Europe? Probably not. But that’s exactly what the EuroLeague is doing by hosting the 2025 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 in Abu Dhabi, a decision that has raised some big questions. A regular-season game abroad is one thing, but moving the ACTUAL 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳, the league's most prestigious event, outside of Europe? That’s wildly different. Would we ever see the 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘉𝘰𝘸𝘭 in London or the 𝘕𝘉𝘈 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴 in Tokyo? Probably not. Those events are so deeply tied to their home markets and fan bases that moving them would feel like losing part of their identity. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬? While fans debate the league’s identity, the players have a different challenge...logistics. Many EuroLeague players also compete in their domestic leagues, often traveling across countries week after week. Adding a trip to Abu Dhabi for the Final Four means even more travel and exhaustion, especially for teams juggling playoff runs in their domestic leagues. For players, this shift could create a disruption to their rhythm. Recovery time shrinks and the physical toll of constant travel starts to add up. Playing on a global stage is exciting, but for players balancing EuroLeague commitments with domestic league schedules, the added travel and disruption could take a serious toll on their health and performance. 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡? For EuroLeague, this could be an opportunity to expand into untapped markets and secure lucrative sponsorships. But at what cost? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 has always carried the energy of local pride and European tradition. Can that translate on a global stage without alienating its core audience or exhausting its players? What do you think? Is this a brilliant move for global growth or a risky play with too much at stake? #euroleague #basketball #sportsbusiness #globalgrowth #basketballculture #sportsmanagement #athletewellness #internationalbasketball #playerexperience #sportslogistics #basketballlife #globalstage #basketballevents #sportsdebate #playerimpact #basketballfans #sportsgrowth #basketballstrategy #europesports #leagueidentity #hooplife #basketballtravel

Council of Europe is for #FairSport = #FairSocieties Today in Porto, at their 18th Conference, Council of Europe Sports Ministers adopted a resolution, underlining that in light of the societal benefits of sport, it has to be promoted as a common resource, fostering its social, health and educational role and preserving it for future generations. 🔗Text of the resolution: https://lnkd.in/d6hi6kam Ministers commit, and call for a fresh approach to #CollaborativeGoverning and #GoodGovernanceInSport. This is the opposite of everything Crfted Events stands for. A great lesson on how to not get a great (ROE) return on experience. How would you feel if you have been training for 3.5 years to represent your country in the Olympic triathlon to learn that your event was cancelled and there wasn't contingency? The questions that come to mind: Will Paris ever be awarded the games again? Could the $1.5 billion have built an incredible space for the triathletes to compete for people to view? Is there any repercussions to wasting $1.5 billion? How will this impact guidelines and expectations for the future of global events?

The future of country clubs is evolving. Padel, pickleball, basketball, or faster versions of golf are shaping a new era, driven by the changing tastes of the next generation. Hospitality has evolved, and so must the clubs that serve it. Take padel as an example. At modern venues like Reserve, you can enjoy the thrill of the game while listening to Drake, Travis Scott, or Rick Ross on the loudspeakers. It’s not just a sport—it’s an experience. Padel is becoming the new golf, offering a fresh, social, and dynamic way to connect. Today’s affluent consumers are redefining what membership means. They’re demanding clubs that reflect their tastes—modern music, innovative food, and sports they love. The next evolution of country clubs is here. #PadelClub #CountryClubEvolution #ModernHospitality #FutureOfSports #PadelExperience #LifestyleInnovation #BreakthroughBrands The Marketing Department

I am pleased to share my next article, "The Political and Economic Impacts of Formula 1 Races in Azerbaijan: Myths and Realities", which offers a unique perspective and in-depth analysis on this topic.Since 2016, Azerbaijan has been hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Due to COVID-19, the race was not held in 2020 and was conducted without spectators in 2021. The initial contract for the event was supposed to end in 2020, but it was extended for another three years. In 2023, Azerbaijan secured the continuation of its hosting rights until at least 2026 1. Apart from Formula 1, the country has hosted several other prestigious international events, including the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, the first European Olympic Games in 2015, the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017, and the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2019. In 2024, Azerbaijan will host COP29, the most significant event in its history since independence, further adding to its diverse event portfolio. Despite some questions surrounding Baku's role as a host for Formula 1 compared to other international sports events, the Azerbaijani government has regularly organized the race for the past seven years and has yet to address these questions. In this paper, we examine the myths and realities regarding the political and economic impacts of Formula 1 races. For those interested, I invite you to read the full article through this link, acknowledging and respecting your valuable time and interest in this crucial topic.
